09 girls who went to Hawaii and stayed at Hyatts...
heyy girls first of all congrats on getting married. i just got back from the travel agent with a price on a 10 night 3 island hawaiian honeymoon. the price looks great but part of the reason is because in maui and kauai we are staying at the hyatt and picked a mountainview room for a cheaper price. my question is do u think i will regret a mountainview or i should forget the price and go for partial oceanview. we will get a feel of an oceanview in oahu so i am thinking i may be upset not having that view on the other 2 islands. please post ur opinions. TIA

I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon....but I did not stay in any Hyatt hotels. We went for 13 nights...3 on Oahu, 5 on Kauai, and 5 on Maui.
We didn't pay for oceanview rooms; believe we might have paid for partial oceanview or not at all.
My only regret for our whole honeymoon was not staying at a Hyatt, or a Marriott, etc. We stayed at nice hotels, but not any chain hotels. We did stay at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach in Oahu which was beautiful.
I don't really regret not having an ocean view. We used that money for excursions, etc. As nice as it sounds to sit in your room and look at the ocean, we just walked down to the beach. That is just my opinion though.
How much is the price differential to book an ocean view? If it's not too much and you can afford it, then do it.

between maui and kauai to have an oceanview it would cost a total of $700 more i agree with ur opinion and say we can just walk down to the beach. i can eat a whole lot of food for $700 lol or take a helicopter tour. thanks for ur opinon!!

Re: 09 girls who went to Hawaii and stayed at Hyatts...
DH and I went to Hawaii for three weeks and stayed at Hyatts on Maui and Kauai. On Oahu we stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki on the beach.
This was our second trip to Hawaii together. The first time we went we stayed in the Hyatts on Kauai and Maui and didn't book oceanfront rooms. We didn't regret it at all.
On Kauai we actually had a view of the parking lot on our first trip and it didn't bother us at all. For our HM we booked a garden view room. When we checked in they upgraded us to a partial ocean view room.
On Maui our first trip we requested a garden view room. There was a problem with our first room so they moved us and upgraded us to partial ocean view. When we booked our HM we booked a partial ocean view. When we arrived, they upgraded us to a full oceanview.
You won't regret not having an oceanview. Sure it's beautiful but wouldn't you rather have the extra money to do stuff?
My only recommendation would be to have your TA request a room in the atrium tower at the Hyatt in Maui. That's the best part of the hotel. We were lucky enough to be there twice!

we stayed at the hyatts and did not have an ocean view ... and honestly i dont regret it at all.. i dont even remember what view we had.. your not gonna spend that much time if any on a balcony... also, you never know.. you could get there and say its your honeymoon and they might just upgrade you for free!
