09er crashing.....Advice Please help :)

So I am getting married at 3pm in brooklyn and the rh is at the fox hollow which cocktail hour starts at 7. I want to take pics somewhere else aside from the rh. My delimma:Chuch at 3 (if it all runs on time), by the time the cermony ends and receiving line and all the church pics...I figure 4-415. That leave me 2hrs and 45 mins to get to take pics and get to the hall. To get to the fox from the church will take about an hour depending on traffic.....Do you think that leaves me enough time to go somewhere to take pics???

Anyone else dealing with this or in the same boat?? Tell me what you guys are going to do???

since your ceremony is in brooklyn, can you do your pics at the brooklyn promenade, is it close to it? and this way you dont have to go far from your church and will cut down on traveling time. ALso you said your CH begins at 7pm, would you considering not being at your CH. I know alot of brides like to be at their CH to greet the guests then but many also dont go to CH so they can make an entrance without most of the guests seeing them beforehand. So if youre willing to miss CH, it gives you a little more time

I am in mill basin/ bb off the belt so downtown bklyn is not really an option....my friend said the same thing to me about the cocktail hour jsut now...I dont think it would be a big deal to miss some of it....I havent yet decided if I am going to be there or not....I may want to just to kill the time to say hi to everyone instead of doing it during the reception....

well maybe just play it by ear. If you make it to your CH thats great but if not keep this as an option to get a little bit of extra time to take pics. Doesnt seem like you are set on being at CH so thats good and will help out

What about asking ppl what locations are near fox hollow to take pics? I am not THAT great with LI so not sure whats close to fox hollow. I know theres the garden city gazebo and i think its close by. ALso theres old westbury gardens

Thanks so much girls!!! I am going to meet with the priest tomorrow so I am going to see about bumping up the time...but then I have to call all the vendors and then see if they are going to charge me an arm and a leg for the extra time!! LOL

many will be ok with changing the time, especially if its only a half hour difference or so. Most really shouldn't charge extra either. Only thing is maybe the limo since that is more time.

For the extra 30 mins or so that you need, i think missing part or all of your CH might work best if your vendors will charge extra.

I WAS GOING TO SUGGEST THE SAME!

I am!!! Here is how i am doing it!

3pm - church ceremony in coldspring harbour

4:15 - pics at park that is 5 minutes away

5pm - go to hall

6pm- arrive at hall (in mt. sinai)

6-630/45: pics with family and BP at hall - drink service for BP

7: CH!
