IMO I would never take out a loan for my wedding. If you need to put things on credit your best bet is to get a 0% apr credit card - that way you have a year to pay it off.
Me and FH have that and are only going to use it if it is an emergency.

Most vendors will take credit cards for the downpayment - than I know after that it is check or cash.
Sorry but I don't really know anyting about loans.

bethpage federal credit union had decent loans. I def wont be taking one out. I have enough debt. Id take a loan from a family member before id take one from a bank. Fh has one for $10k bc his psycho ex ran up his credit cards and stopped paying them he had no choice but to take a loan. So no more debt here!

I agree w/ Rita... take out a loan as a last resort, most vendors will accept CC's as a down payment so i would try to go that route.. good luck!!!

we're not taking out a loan but you can take out a personal loan for the wedding. if you go onto bofa.com they have different loans with some payments i think. if you click into the personal ones i think it even says weddings, vacations, etc

No loan for the wedding. I've put a few down payments on my cc. I pay my cc in full each month, so cc companies hate me as they're not earning interest and I'm never late.
More and more vendors are accepting cc/personal checks for all payments EXCEPT the final payment. I paid for my DOC and my florist with my cc as well as my DJ.
But it's either cash or cc with me, and I don't carry a cc balance so it's all good.
We have student loans and we'll have a mortgage...my wedding will be paid for.

i will not be taking out a loan for my wedding. i would rather scale back then have to repay a loan. i have heard of a lot of vendors taking credit cards. with the economy the way it is a lot of vendors that i have spoken to have already said they will be willing to adjust their pricing schedule. u should really speak with your vendors before looking to take out a loan. or maybe speak to a family member who can help u out & make a deal with them to pay them back on a set schedule.

i couldn't agree more...i would start cutting things out and or ask family for help if that wasn't an option ...
