I would say it depends on your budget and party size. I think two photographers is a good idea because it can capture almost everything. I will have two and I have at least 300 people coming.

At first I wasn't even considering two but as I thought of it more it made most sense. If I only have one then will miss key pix of fiancée, GM, getting ready cause photog will be with me.
FH and his family can get their key pix out of the way prior to the church. That's a great time saver especially if you want to attend your cocktail hour.
Down the aisle or first look they will be able to get both our first reaction
Were having approx 120-40 guests
So if you can afford it, I say do it!!

Me too! Plus I wanted pictures of me getting ready & pictures of my fiance' getting ready... and since we will be about 20 minutes apart, 2 photographers were a must in that situation.

same here. while the photographer is coming to my house, our second will be going to FH's house to take pictures of him and the guys. Just makes things way easier!

I'm definitely going to do it!!! Thanks ladies!!!! :) thanks for bringing up the point that the groomsmen and my FH side can have pictures done as a time saver!!! I am nervous about time!!! I am having a full catholic mass so it won't end until 4:30 and my reception starts at 7!!! that time goes quick!!!!!

If budget allows 2 will be better if you're having a large amount of people. But you'll get plenty of great photos with just one :)

Re: 1 or 2 photographers
I would say ask the photographer to just have the second one come for the preparations since the price for 2 photographers for the full day will be a lot more expensive and you dont have a large wedding so you would be fine with 1 for a majority of the wedding.

Re: 1 or 2 photographers
Like everyone said it depends on your budget and what you are willing to spend more on. With two photographers you will get more coverage of you and your fiance when it comes to getting ready. Also i feel that it will save you time with taking formal photos since there is an extra person. Might not be a bad ideaWelcome New Vendors
