.......and my favorite Aunt passed away. This is so hard. Has something similar happened to anyone else. How did you get through you wedding? I was wondering if I should go to the doctor and request one days supply of Valium. My fiancee doesn't agree. He thinks it will numb me and turn my day into a blur for me.

Omg im sorry to hear that! Maybe in her honor you could put a picture in your bouquet or put her picture on your table? I dont think Valium is a good idea, you want to remember the day.

I think you will be fine on your day. Do something special to honor her during the ceremony. I am so sorry that you have to deal with this so close to your big day....but what if you had a bad reaction to the medicine on your day.... I would try hard not to have to take them.... good luck!!

First, I am so sorry for your loss, I know it's really hard to deal with being so close to the wedding. As the other poster said, I wouldn't do valium either. Maybe a few glasses of wine couldn't hurt though. 10 days isn't much but with the comotion of the wedding you may feel differently on your day. Right now it prob feels like you won't be able to get through it. It will be emotional at the ceremony, no doubt, but you will remember why you are there, to marry FH, and you know your aunt would want you to be happy and shed no tears (easier said than done). I am not really looking forward to walking down the isle b/c my stepmom passed away in March of this year and it will be extremely hard not having her their and knowing how it is effecting my dad. So I know what your saying. Do you have anything of hers that you could carry with you down the isle, or a peice of jewelry that she may have wanted you to wear? Lots of to you.

Totally, you wouldn't want to end up like the sister in Sixteen Candles when she was doped up on all the pain meds trying to eat her veil.

I'm so sorry to hear that, but don't take any medication it could make things worse. Your aunt would want you to smile and have a good time - you should remember that on your wedding day. She would want you to be happy. Try to keep your head up and keep smiling.
