10 To Go...

10 To Go...

I have 10lbs to go until I'm at my ideal weight and I have 12 weeks to go until the wedding. I was hoping to already have these lbs dropped by now, but they are stubborn!! Is it even possible? I heard losing 1-2lbs per week is possible and still healthy.

I'm eating healthy (Weight Watchers), dropped the alcohol, and am in Week 5 of a 10 Week Boot Camp Class. Just wondering if anyone had any additional tips that worked well for them.

I'm thinking of adding on a 2nd session at the gym each day to add in more cardio. I was just sick for a week and didn't eat the entire week and drank a ton of liquids, but still didn't lose 1 ounce. Any tips would be great, thanks!!!

I would limit carbs.

If you're doing a boot camp class, is it possible that you're gaining muscle?

The closer you get to the goal, the harder it gets! But just keep your goal in mind!

Remember that the number matters much less than your shape. If you're 10 pounds heavier than your goal weight but you look toned and feel good, then that's all that matters.

Do you workout in the morning or evening? I usually take classes at night. My new goal is to work out a few mornings each week before eating breakfast..I've read it is really good for weight loss!

Cutting carbs is definitely a good option, but be careful. Carbs are tricky because if you cut them and then cheat one day, your body doesn't process them the same anymore and you can actually end up worse off for it. I made that mistake a few years ago and I lost weight and then went back to eating carbs like usual after I lost the weight and absolutely blew up. Totally backfired on me. :-\

I'd try doing the plate portions idea and make half your plate veggies, 1/4 starch, and 1/4 lean proteins. It really helped me lose weight faster and veggies tend to be full of fiber so they tend to make you feel fuller and less hungry for snacks.

Thank you, everyone!! I've been doing the boot camp at night so I was thinking of adding in the extra cardio in the morning before breakfast so I will try that. I already have pretty limited carbs, I think I'll add in a lot more veggies as possible. It definitely can be the muscle, I'm pretty solid but I wish it were more toned :( I'm going to try to add in more yoga or pilates for that. Thanks!!

I'm a huge yoga and kickboxing fan. Is there a 'I Love Kickboxing' studio out there? I guareentee you will see results even if you go a couple times a week. Also, don't skimp on protein or calcium in some form. Your body will not like that as you see when you hair starts thinning like mine did some years ago. It took major nutritional intervention to get my bones and thick hair back!

I second cutting out carbs. It helps you drop the extra bloating and water weight. I recommend following the south beach diet. The first 2 weeks are no carbs at all. I have lost up to 8 lbs in two weeks in the phase when also working out. Then after that you need to slowly add in 'good' carbs(i.e. whole grains, no processes sugars, etc.)The weight lost will slown down then, but to be honest you cant do no carbs for too long without going crazy and being unhealthy. After a few days of no carbs you stop craving the sugar as much. YOu could totally do the south beach in conjuntion with weight watchers. Good luck!!
