Where did y'all go to get you marriage license, and what documents did you need? I have heard some girls say they needed bith certificate and drivers license, and others that was just drivers license.
We are in the 60 day window (oh boy) and need advice on where to go.

Re: 10'er with a marriage license question
Go to the town office where you live. We needed an original birth certificate the one with the raised seal, if you do not have that kind you can call the town and they will tell you how to get it. I had to get dh's I got it online but I can not remember the website. HTH! Good Luck, these 60 days will fly by!!!

Re: 10'er with a marriage license question
I went to Smithtown and it was really easy. We went on a Friday afternoon around 2:30 and no one was there. We needed our licenses, original birth certificates, and even though the town website said Smithtown requires your SS card, which we brought, the woman seemed surprised that we had them because she just verbally asked us for our numbers.

Re: 10'er with a marriage license question
We went in Brooklyn and only needed our drivers license. I also filled out all the paperwork online in advance, so when we got there, the lady just pulled up our form and printed it for us to sign.
The upside was that I was able to change my last name to my maiden SPACE new last name, which I've heard some offices on LI don't let you do. The downsize is that we had to wait 6 weeks for our marriage certificate to come in the mail after the wedding.
I guess waiting a few extra weeks to not have to hyphenate was an ok tradeoff for me. I just use his last name, but my legal name is both with a space.
