my co-worker was telling me how her daugher is planning her wedding but trying to figure our her Bridal Party. She wants 5 girls and commented on how her step sister is 1 of them; so that only leaves 4 friends. I know the step sister is a little girl and asked how old she was again; and she said she'd be 11 at the wedding. I suggested she make her a junior bridesmaid; and still pick 5 friends as regular BM.
She was like no; she'll be a bridesmaid and she'll pick 4 friends.
I just thought that was odd. An 11 year old bridesmaid-doesn't that seem kind of young. She really can't participate in any of the Bachelorette plans and she really can't help with any of the plans that the bride needs. But i'm not going to say anything to offend her or anything so i just left it at that. But did think it was kind of odd...

its very young. My FH's cousin wants to be in our WP. She told me, I'll be aJ R Bridemaid. She's 11 now.

'10er crashing. I think 11 is way too young to be a bridesmaid. I have a 13 year old and she is still a Junior Bridesmaid. I think it's just weird to have an 11 year old walk down the aisle with a grown man. But, that's all just IMO.

I didn't want to upset her about their plans; but i think 11 is too young. She's just a kid. And is the groosman going to do a 1st dance with her???

My goddaughter will be 10 1/2 when i get married and she is going to be a JR Bridesmaid...i think 11 is to young to be a bridesmaid

That's why to young for a BM... Junior BM, yes that's fine, but not an actual BM.

My daugther will be 13 and she is my MOH and my step daughter will be a 10 and she is Jr bridesmaid. My daughter and I both know she can not participate in the bach party but she has a big party at the shower.

I agree, 11 is very young. My cousin is going to be a jr. bridesmaid and at the wedding she will have just turned 16. I was also a jr. bridesmaid at 15. But I guess it's her wedding and her choice.

My 12 year old sister is one of my maids of honor. She will be 13 at the time of the wedding and obviously we all know she won't be part of bachelorette activities but I have 2 sisters and we're a tight knit family so it was important to my mom that I have both of my sisters.

I was a Jr BM when I was 7 and 9. I was in another wedding at 13 and I was a BM. I think 11 is too young, but I think it really depends on the kid. I was a really mature 11 year old, so I think it really depends.
And plus, it's up to her.

I think the Bride can do whatever she wants.
My 14 year old is going to be my MOH...no she can not come to the BP but neither can my FSD who will be 18 (a BM). I will be doing something with them before (maybe dinner)
As for the Bridal shower that I don't want but if I did most times the Bride's mother pays anyway so she could help with decorating or games

Honestly, everyone can do whatever they want in their wedding. It's her choice. It's a little weird...but thats what she wants. I personally would make her a jr bridesmaid....but thats just me!

My cousin will be 12 when I get married and I wanted her in my BP. I obviously knew that she was too young to be a bridesmaid but then when I even mentioned the word JR bridesmaid in front of her I saw in her face that she was a little upset. She's at that age where she doesn't want to be considered a kid anymore so when I did finally ask her I asked her to be a bridesmaid. I figured she is walking down the isle with her brother who will be 14 then and I know she doesn't expect nor want to come to my bacholorette party.

That's wayyy too young IMO. I'm having my 2 cousins (will be 16 and 13) in the bridal party as BM, and my little cousin (will be 11) as a junior. We don't have a flower girl, so she will walk down by herself and the other two will be walking down with my younger brothers.
