NOT WELLS FARGO...I HATE THEM.

They made my life miserable for months before we could close, but waited until it was too late for us to switch and still close.

I worked in real estate and mortgages.....I've heard to stay far, far away from Chase....I knew people who worked there and wouldn't take out a loan from them.

Citi isn't bad, Bank of America isn't bad - but watch out if they tell you that all your fees are paid by the bank....you're really paying in higher amounts of points.

I've seen a lot of happy customers use Continental Home Loans....they're smaller, but they were generally easy to work with.

i work for a real estate law firm - all we do are bank closings.

every bank has its short commings.

Citibank - is the relatively fastet bank to close with and they are those most willingly to work with.

Bank of America, depending on your broker - (if you need help let me know, i can refer yout o someone) can get you closed ASAP - although sometimes they can get hung up on little things.

Wells Fargo - does take forever to close loans and they are sticklers with just about anything.

TD Bank - is the most lenient but they are about average in the time frame to getting loans closed.

M & T Bank - they are SUPER DUPER fast at getting loans closed and will let almost anything slide!

Chase - have great programs and incentives to get you loans but may take a bit longer than expeted to close a loan. Like if you or FH are in a union - you can get a better deal with them.

PNC Bank - they suck. period.

Brokers - there are several brokerage firms out there - basically what they do for you is shop rates around for you. They look around for the best one and then you eventually close with them. Most times you won't know who you are closing with until the end. If your buying a coop with a broker, beware! they will randomly file UCC-1's with different banks and then it would be your responsibility to get those terminated!

Hope this helps!
