Morning Beautiful Brides! Got one for you.... Is there anyone in your family....maybe your parents, grandparents...older siblings...cousins...close friends...whos marriage you grew up completely admiring? Maybe not so much 'marriage' when you were a child....but just a couple that you looked at as being made for each other...a couple that you dreamed about being like or having a special bond like in the future with your fh?

My parents have been happily married for 30 something years. So I guess I would say them!
for me it was defintely my great grandparents on moms side of teh family. The were competely in love it was sickening...lol They were the cute old couple that dresssed the same and never left each others side. They died before i went to HS but I was SOOOO close to them both. my great Grandfather built my grandmother hearts every 5 years made out of whatever that material was to represent the year (ya know silver is 25...so on..there is actually one for every year) and I actually have this whole set in my house. i will treasure it always. And...my ggrandma wrote a book (that was never published) about their whole life story so i feel as if i never missed a thing...
and you ask why I picked the dead of winter to get married....because they we married on

Re: 12.30.08 QOTD
I don't know if I really have any couples that I have admired. My parents are divorced. My sister has been married for about 25 years, which is an accomplishment, but there have been times when she wanted out, and her kids kept her in it. Maybe my friends grandparents, or FH's grandparents. They have been together like 50 + years....

honestly? i grew up in a crazy situation. My parents got divorced when i was 7, but then became best friends. so it def wasnt them.
I would have to say my dads sister and her husband. She was an AMAZING woman, who spent her life working as a principal for a school with 'special' children as she called them. They had my cousin Meredith at an early age. At 30 my aunt was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. My uncle stood by her side and helped her through everything, as the most loving husband in the world. He would carry her when she stopped being able to walk, and would drive her to work everyday as she refused to stop working. She loved him more than anything, and hewould do anything for her becuz he loved her too. At their daughters wedding, he carried her down the aisle becuz she was too sick to walk, and didt want her wheelchair down the aisle. He even helped her up to be able to hold her first grandchild when she ws born and my aunt was in the hospital due a bout of breast cancer. My aunt died about a year ago, and my uncle loved her so much he did everything in his power and had the school she was principal, at renamed to the 'Robin Sue Ward School For Exceptional Children'. My aunt loved him in a way i never knew was possible, and my uncle worshipped the ground she walked on.They were the perfect couple.
My FH knows the story, becuz he knows just how close i was to my aunt. He has told me he would be there as well, if i had a debilitating disease like she had. I know he would, Its interesting seeing what people would go through and deal with for love

my uncle doug and aunt chris and FH's aunt and uncle. in both cases, the people are imperfect; the relationship even has some qualities that others might raise an eyebrow at, but in both cases it works for them and they're obviously made for each other. there's a mutual understanding, and they complement one another's strengths and weaknesses to make an unstoppable team.

I would have to say my aunt and uncle, my mom's brother. They were high school sweet hearts and have been married for 35 years and you still see them holding hands and kissing it's the cutest thing. They have a great relationship and are always doing things together. You can just look at them and know that they are still totally in love.

definitely my parents. they will be married 30 years in June and they really do have the greatest relationship. they have had their ups and downs over the years but growing up, i never ONCE saw them fight. my brothers and i grew up in a very happy household because of them!

Re: 12.30.08 QOTD
I would say my parents. 37 years and as in love as the day they met. They fight but its rarely anything substantial. They are still very affectionate towards each other. When my dad's away on business he calls twice a day. She still sticks little cards in his suitcase sometimes to let him know that he is missed. And while I am amazingly close with them, they were also very careful to have a life that didn't completely revolve around me. Actually they have a better social life then I do.
They will be married 38 years a few days after my wedding.

Re: 12.30.08 QOTD
It would be my aunt and uncle (my mom's sister and her husband) - they have been married 55 years and they're still so romantic and cute together. Starting on their 49th anniversary, my uncle takes my aunt to church every year on Jan. 2 to renew their wedding vows. He was afraid something would happen to him before they hit the 50 years mark so he didn't want to miss it. Since then, they go back every single year. It's just adorable.

I would love to have a marriage as happy and complete as my parents. It is so obvious how much they love each other...for 31 years and counting!

I would say my aunt and uncle, they have been married for 35 years. They had a few rough patches in the beginning but they still stuck together no matter what. Even to this day you see them hugging and joking around with each other in a cute way.

I'd have to say my Grandparents on my moms side. They have been married over 50 years and they are the happiest couple I know. I always admired how they have stuck together through all the years and i never really heard them argue.
