I met with Dominick this week and thought he was absolutely great. However, he's not available on my date and said Geraldine would be. Anyone work with her? I'm not necessary worried about it, but I would like to have a photographer who has a funny personality, which Dominick does. And has anyone negotiated a rate with them for the 8 hr package?

Hi,
I booked with 12th night and Geraldine is doing my wedding. She has an album there if you ask to see it. Her pictures are beautiful. FH and I met with her before we booked and she is very sweet, calm, and definitely knows her stuff (both portraits and photojournalism). FH and I were very comfortable with her and felt that she had the type of persona we wanted to work with that day. I have been told that there are other photographers: Cynthia, Michael (Dominic's brother) and a guy by the name of Anthony as well. You might want to find out if any of them are available.

The day I went Geraldine had just taken her albims to show someone else. I think I will go back in to see her album. But you definitely made me feel better.
Anyone else use 12th night? Is it ok to negotiate?

I saw Geraldine's work, and it was beautiful. We also didn't try to negotiate- we saw several photogs and Dominic's prices beat them all by a substantial amount. So I wouldn't have felt right doing that. We're getting two photographers (one for 8 hours, one for 5) for less than one photographer at some of the other studios.

I attempted to negotiate and it didn't really work. The prices on the website were 2003 prices and he gave the 2004 prices. I tried to get the 2003 prices but it didn't happen...

Girls, I need your input.
12th night was the first photographer we went to. And we really liked there work. I would have Geraldine if we book.
Who else to you all meet with?
I was very happy with Dominick but I don't know if I should just check out other people to see what else is out there. My wedding is less than 4 months away. I'm afraid someone else will book the same day. What do you girls think?

FH and I wanted the the beautiful pics that ppl spend lots of money on, but felt we could get them at 12th night without spending all that money.
We also went to Silverfox, which also take great pictures (main photog $1250 (all day), to add a photjournalist for 8 hrs is $900). They are also reasonably priced and do things a la carte (kind of like 12th night). We went with 12th night because we were able to meet with Geraldine.
We also looked at Duet DeJaVu, Queens Bridal, Lavendar Bridal, Fullview studios and imagine and felt for the quality and money we could not go wrong with 12th night. I liked the Duet folks, for the price, but their photos and albums did not move me. Silverfox was a very close second ot 12th night, however.

I would meet with other vendors to see what is out there. You wouldn't want to be wondering after you booked them if it was the right decision. I met with 5 other photographers and 12th Night was my last stop. They were the best out of everyone we met with. Best prices, best personality, best philosophy, best photography and best feeling about them! They are like Verdi photos at resonable prices. There was no way I was paying over 5K just for pictures. I am having 2 photographers for 2K. This way I get quality pictures at a reasonable price. I met with Duet, Mike Ferruso, Joe Palma, Proline, and North Island Photograpy.
