NYC girls - help! My friend is looking to get married in NYC (130 attendees) but really wants a 1920's- 1930's feel to the location - rich chandeliers, crystal, gilded....
Any suggestions? We've looked at the Harold Pratt Mansion, Roosevelt Hotel, and Manhattan Penthouse.

Try Grand Prospect Hall in Brooklyn. It sounds like what you described. And from what I hear, pretty reasonable in price.

I know you said it has to hold 130 ppl but maybe it's flexible. The 3 West Club holds 120 ppl max. It's a landmark building. It has high ceilings with chandeliers, fireplaces and a roof terrace overlooking St. Pat's cathedral. Pics in my album.
ETA: 3 West Club was built in the 1930s so it has the old world charm you're looking for. It is actually the National Women's Republican Club but they do weddings too.
