1st Dance Song Poll

my FH and i are just having the most difficult time picking a first dance song. we want something classic and romantic. but can't pinpoint something!!! some of the songs he was suggesting..i seriously wanted to slap him.

we've narrowed down some choices. plz give opinions

ETA: i know a lot of ppl are gonna suggest From This Moment...but i'm feeling a little weird about that one. my ex-BF (the one i almost married)...we had always said that THAT would be our wedding song. would it be inappropriate if FH and i used it? he doesn't see the big deal...but i just don't know!

I said From This Moment On before I read the rest of your post. If it was something you were going to use with another man, I would not use it. I'd choose something else then.

I wouldnt use 'From this moment on' if you had planned to use it with someone else. You want this song to be something special and unique to you and FH.

Ok let me start off by saying when I was growing up my grandma always has music from the 40's & 50's playing. I have always loved the music. My wedding song is going to be The Very Thought of You by Nat King Cole. The music is old school but is rather romantic. So you may want to look into some of his works. oh and the dance for it is a slow fox trot. I did vote for one of your songs just wanted to add a side note. Good luck.

i am in the same boat as you---i was like when FH wanted that song on the list. he doesn't quite get why i think it sux.

Have you heard 'It's Your Love' by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill? The only reason it's not OUR first dance song is because we already have had TWO picked out for the longest time, so it will be our cake cutting song, but it's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

I agree...........of all the songs you posted on the poll which one do you think represents your relationship?

I like 'Someone Like You' by Van Morrison. It was in Bridgette Jones' Diary, sung by a woman. Really nice song.

I definitely think the song you were gonna choose with your X should be eliminated, but that's just my opinion. I chose 'The way you look tonight' and it looks like that is the most popular so far...GO FOR IT

I don't know... i just get the feeling that you are more babyface than Groban or Buble... maybe because you HAVE a babyface??

I wouldn't do Shania because it DOES have a connection to an ex... it would be weird because YOU WOULD have a thought of your ex when you are dancing to it! I would hate FH to pick a song that was his with someone else.

Have you considered going even MORE classic? Like stepping into the WAY back machine and doing some old school stuff? I have to think of something...
