Aside from being really psyched to try on MY dress in MY size I was wondering if there's anything in particular I need to look for when I go tomorrow. In other words, specifics about the tailoring and the measurements. I don't even know what hollow to hem means!

Re: 1st fitting tomorrow..question
You need your shoes and slip. You might need the bra too for a best fit.

Re: 1st fitting tomorrow..question
oh yeah, the bag is packed! I just need to get a slip there b/c I couldn't decide which fullness to get without trying it on w/ my dress.
My question is more along the lines of my dress itself..should I be on the lookout for anything as far as problems, the fitting 'procedure'..

make sure you can move in it, make sure you point out any nips/tucks they don't mention, and make sure your hem is correct! After my first fitting, one side was off...apparently, I'm crooked.

Re: 1st fitting tomorrow..question
you need all the undergarments you will be wearing on the day of your wedding and your shoes... most important..... make sure your bra is comfortable because if you are wearing a strapless dress it is best not to switch your bra after you have been fitted or you will be tugging on the top of your dress.
You need to just make sure to speak up if you feel something is too tight or too loose and have someone go with you so that they can check your hem to make sure they are pinning it level. it is hard to tell that when you are standing it than it is for someone who is standing afar looking at it. Make sure to walk around in it after it is pinned to make sure it is comfortable.

Re: 1st fitting tomorrow..question
I think hollow to hem is how long the dress is from the top to the bottom of the hem. I know because there is so much beading on the bottom of my dress, they had to order it according to my height with shoes... no room for hemming my dress because of the beadwork. I know when she ordered it, she said it had to be ordered 'hollow to hem.' I think!! Have fun tomorrow!

You need to pay attention to the hem and how level it is ... all the way around it will lift the highest in the front and taper back out to the side seam. Also, you need to decide on the bustle whether you will get a french bustle or the traditional one depending on the back details of the dress. It is always best to have someone come with you if you can to be your second set of eyes. Someone standing off from you can see more than you can often times. Good luck and have fun!!!

I'm going to have a long-line strapless bra. It keeps the lines smooth and gives you nice lift. As for the slip, the store should be able to tell you which length slip is good for your height and your dress.

Re: 1st fitting tomorrow..question
hallow to hem is the measure from where your collar bones meet to the ground- the perfect length of the dress!
