1st Wedding meltdown vent

Original post by oct13bride

Ok so I just signed my RH contract on Monday for reception to start@1. This after FH checked with church to make sure we could have a 10 AM wedding so we would have time for pics& to actually enjoy our cocktail hour. Well I get home today to a message from the church saying they can't start until 11 AM. I have spoken with the church & they apologize for giving wrong info but won't budge on giving us the 10AM. Of course reception can't move the time it isn't their fault I don't blame them.

So now I don't know what to do-do I take pics before the wedding & lose the whole thing of FH seeing me for 1st time walking down the aisle, have wedding done@RH and lose the whole Catholic church sacrament, or just miss the entire cocktail hour? I could really use the opinions of my fellow 2012 brides-PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Another thing to keep in mind - is are you having a full mass? You can still get married in the church and just have the ceremony part with the readings and everything which should take no more than 30 minutes. HTH!! Good luck with your decision

If your heart is really set on having your FH see you for the first time as you walk down the aisle, then I would start looking at other churches.

FH is stuck with idea of getting married at his family's church since they are much more religious then my side of the family. I am still going to call my church just to check but I don't think he is going to budge

This is actually a great idea- I am going to have FH ask church about this. Thanks soooo much
