2 bad makeup trials later, any have any recommendations?
Original post by poeticmelody
So i've had 2 makeup trials and Ive been unhappy with both. One painted the makeup on and there was so much of it that FH asked if I knew where his fiance was. The second one applied airbrush and it didn't look good. It was flaky and the eyes were too dark and there wasn't enough color on my lips.
So, for my wedding I want someone who is going to make my eyes pop in photos (I want to be able to see that I have eyeshadow on) and who keeps the foundation and mascara light esp. since I don't have much to cover and long lashes already. And I don't want lip gloss, I want some actual color.
I know you have to put makeup on a little bit heavier to appear in photos but if its one thing I don't want is for people on my wedding day to think 'whoah! Look at how much makeup she has on! damn that scary!' lol
Any suggestions?
--M I A is already taken, although some of her bridal assistants are available but I have no references for them.
TIA

Try Suzanne at Cactus Salon in Syosset- she is a professional esthetician and I have been going to her for years. She will be doing my makeup for my wedding too!
LOVE HER!

Janine Maloney. She is a vendor on here under make up. I used her for my wedding. I had mine, my moms and 6 BM done and everyone looked BEAUTIFUL. She will come to you the day of.

I would def recommend Sachiko. I loved my trial and my FH said I didnt look like I had 20 lbs of MU on and she is the sweetest person you could meet

Thanks guys for all the help! Based on your recommendations I decided first to go to a Mac salon (the closest one for me is roosevelt field mall) and get a trial there. I feel like since you can take home some products you get more for your money and its only $50 for the trial and another $50 for day of makeup in products. If that doesn't go well, I'll be back to these posts looking for some more makeup artists lol
thanks again!
