So girls, my dress is pretty heavy. I do enjoy dancing and would like to be able to dance and be comfortable at my wedding. I am playing with the idea of getting a 2nd dress to change into 1/2way into the reception.. but I don't want to spend a lot of $, and my wedding dress is gorgeous so maybe I should just stay in it and prefer to look good rather than be comfortable dancing?!
If I were to get a 2nd dress, something short and white, any ideas how much $$ this would be and where to go for such a dress? I got my wedding gown @ Filene's running of the brides so I can't exactly go where I bought my 1st wedding dress.
TIA!

Re: 2 dresses on wedding day?
I had two dresses. I changed after the reception ended, for the after party.
I had them both custom made by Julius Bridal in Oceanside, NY.

I went to Nordstorms the other night and they have the most beautiful white dresses for a wedding, long & short...I was really suprised, they even carry tiaras now

personallyyy....if i bought a dress, i would be wearing it all night and i don't mean this in a bad way, but didn't you think it was heavy when you bought it, you didn't see a problem then?? did you? Maybe you're just over thinking things...but if you really want a second dress go for it, but me personally I'm spending lots of money on ONE dress bc thats what I wanna wear.

Re: 2 dresses on wedding day?
I spent a lot of money on my wedding gown, and although i absolutely love it i too am thinking about a second shorter dress...i love to dance ans dont want to worry about people stepping on my dress or me sweating in it...i say go for it...my bridal consultan suggested i look at bridesmaids dresses as most of them come in white.
I plan on changing closer to the end of yhe night after the cake cutting when the music kicks up and then foe the after party

ITA!
Especially if you're getting married in a church or a temple and not at the RH. 50% of the people won't come to church so then they'll never see you in your gown unless you wear it half the night and then leave the reception to change. To me, it just seems like too much energy lol.

Re: 2 dresses on wedding day?
Well I LOVE my wedding dress.. but it is heavy.. but I still don't regret buying it. I just think after a few hours of wearing it, I may feel uncomfortable and in order to dance and not worry about the dress I would like something shorter and more comfortable. I may not even WANT to change so I may keep the tags on just in case I stick with my wedding dress all night.
Thanks for the tip about Nordstroms and checking out bridesmaids dresses!
