$2 each!!!

My hotel wants to charge $2 each to hand out OOT bags when my guests check in. Is this normal? I think it's too much.

Exactly! It's absurd that they want to charge that much.

I could see if maybe the $2 was going to the waitstaff, but you know thats not very likely!

Highway robery..there's a fee for everything.

I havent checked into hotels so I havent come accross this, but did you call around to othe rhotels in the area to see if they have a fee too?

Re: $2 each!!!

i remember seeing on an episode of 'whose wedding is it anyway' or one of those wedding shows that YES hotels do charge if you ask for them to hand out the OOT bags.

screw that, you're giving them all that business and they're gonna charge you for something stupid like that?!?!?! i think that should be complimentary how stupid i'll go stand there and hand them out for free!

Some hotels do charge, but I think many will waive the fee as long as the bags don't have names on them .... so they just have to grab a bag, not worry about grabbing the 1 with the right name on it.

I wouldn't personalize them, but the hotel wants to charge regardless. I am going to see if I can negotiate a bit.

i bet if you tell them it is a deal breaker that they will do it for free.

$100+ per night, per couple vs. $2??

give me a break...that is crap....i hope the marriot doesn't try to pull this with me lol they already have booked rooms from me for april 2008!! I just sent the STD's out last week!

Re: $2 each!!!

thats pretty ridiculous, we dropped off OOT boxes to 6 different hotels in the city and not one said anything of a fee...and if they did i think i would laugh in their face b/c i think that if a guest is paying to stay at their hotel the least the hotel can do is accomdate a request to have a small package given to them from you upon arrival.
