Where can I get nice but affordable combs? Nothing to 'costume jewelry' Something like these
Can I used the hairpins if I wore my hair 1/2 down?

Great post, I was wondering the same thing I have heard that Tri County is decent but I have never been I think that any bridal boutique should carry these types of things

Barron's in Tri-County has quite a big selection. my sis & I went there this past weekend & she was very impressed with the selection. Plus he said that they can order most things if you bring a picture.

good to know!
Does anyone know if both types can be used for either a 1/2 down or pulled back style?

Re: 2 questions about hairpins & combs
thats funny. hmm, let's see - - if you search for the hair thread, there was a photo on there of a half-up, half-down style that also had hair pins. I think the pins are pretty versatile. Which look do you prefer? tiara or pins?

Re: 2 questions about hairpins & combs
no tiara. I either want to do my hair half down (like Zeta-Jones) and the piece in the back, where the hair is pulled back, or all pulled back and placed like the photo shows.
I think the comb is versatile, I think the pick might not stay if I did 1/2 up/down.

i think you're right if you want the piece in the back. the pic i saw on that thread had the pin sort of tucked in on the side. can you ask your hairstylist?

Re: 2 questions about hairpins & combs
I think that is what I will have to do. I have to do a trial fairly soon, so I guess I don't need the pin for that, I can ask then which is best to use?

yes - or give yourself an idea of how it would look with a different comb you already have?
