I have 2 questions for you (you all are so helpful!!)
How long should I expect an appointment to be at a venue? I would like to see one than one venue in a day.
I need the most low cost venues to visit. That sounds horrible but if I want to get married any time soon, I have to give my FN a low price. I would like to be married in the summer of course but I can also do February or April. Are holidays cheaper? I can get married any day in the summer (i have off because I am a teacher). Are Thursday nights cheaper than sunday nights?
Thanks ladies!

Re: 2 questions for my HELPFUL Ladies!!
I guess it depends on if you like the RH and how long you stay. For RH's I knew off the bat I didn't like I stayed long enough to look around and then left. For ones that had potential, I was there for up to an hour exploring and asking all my questions. What about the Swan Club? They're very reasonably priced and it's beautiful there!

I scheduled about and hour and half time in between my appointments depending on location and what not. I know that Fridays and Sundays are roughly around the same price but I am unsure about Thursdays. I know that Giorgio's has a brunch for 55+ on Sunday. HTH

The cheapest months are Dec-March. If you also choose a Friday night or during the day on Sat or Sun it is much cheaper.
Here are a list of venues with reasonable prices: Fox Hollow Crest Hollow Swan Club Chateau Briand Westbury Manor (A fave of mine) Riviera (Another fave)

Jericho Terrace is also quite reasonable!! That's where I booked!
I also am getting married in February because it is more cost effective for us. You should plan on being at a hall for about an hour or so.
Some other reasonable places:
Thatched Cottage Chateau La Mer

Re: 2 questions for my HELPFUL Ladies!!
we received winter prices because we are the first weekend in April and got decent deals because of that...
i'm surprised to see CLM as inexpensive... if that fits then I would imagine Bellport CC definately and we loved it there.

Re: 2 questions for my HELPFUL Ladies!!
I did about 3/4 RH's in a day. I saw Inn at New Hyde Park, Floral terrace, Sand Castle & Jerich Terrace in one day.
Then I saw WaterMill, The Fox Hollow & Westbury Manor all in another day.
It usually takes abotu an hour with each place & lettingthem show you around.
As for places Fox Hollow (which Im biased to), Westbury Manor, Swan Club, Chateau LaMer, Floral Terrace, Riviera. All have great prices They are way cheaper usually in Jan - Mar. Unless you get married on certain day like me im Valentines day & it wasnt cheaper for me at all. But they usally have good prices regardless. Check the mout good luck!

Re: 2 questions for my HELPFUL Ladies!!
A thursday night in February would definetely be the cheapest. I know that a Saturday night in February is waaaaaaaayyyyyy cheaper than we are paying for a Sunday night in July at my hall. If you like winter....Feb is your best option. Even your other vendors, florists, photographers, etc.....will be cheaper! Good Luck =)

if price is an issue, you might consider a day wedding. you can always have an after party so the celebration doesn't feel cut short.

Re: 2 questions for my HELPFUL Ladies!!
An appointment can usually last up to an hour, so you can definitely check more than one out especially if you are going on a weekend.
The price range can vary based on a number of things. like time of day (afternoon is obviously cheaper than an evening wedding) Time of Year (Dec-March/April are usually cheaper) May is the start of high season.
As for inexpensive venues. the girls have a pretty good list going for you... I would also add Woodbury Country Club if it already isn't.

Re: 2 questions for my HELPFUL Ladies!!
Hey - I just responded to another post that you had...if you would consider getting married in April act like you are dead set on a May wedding date. The cost difference is drastic. You can keep pushing for May etc, and they'll keep dropping March and April. I wish I had played that card a little more. Also, pay attention to Holidays. Mother's day, Easter, etc. and when kids are off from school. You may get a great deal at the RH but pay for it because guests can't attend or your flight fare is through the roof!
