2 wedding rings

Original post by dubliner

Here's the situation

My engagment is an emerald cut diamond, and the angle of the prongs for the setting doesn't allow for another ring ( a wedding band) to sit flush beside it. So I decided to look for a diamond wedding band, and wear the e-ring on my right hand.
We went looking yesterday, and I found a ring I really liked, right price, etc. and it is on hold for me....
As we were finishing up looking, I saw out of the corner my eye, another ring that has the baguettes like my e-ring, but a gap for the stone. Basically this ring will 'hug' my e-ring. I don't think I could ever wear this by itself.

Do I need both, do you think I would get use out of both?

Congratulations on getting both! At least now you won't be second guessing yourself with questions like 'should I have gotten it'/'I should've gotten it'.

We went for our wedding bands & they are presently being made. I have a diamone & platinum one, and one plain platinum one to wear when i go fishing etc.

Why not go and have one made to fit nicely with your e ring?

Valenia - I have to disagree...both my wedding bands are 'wedding' rings! Both of my rings were part of our ceremony. Our priest blessed both of them, and DH put both of them on my finger during the ceremony on the day of the wedding. My engagement ring was worn on my right hand during the ceremony.

In fact, in all of our wedding day pics, you can see my two bands on my left hand. So, I dont' consider one ring having more meaning than the other...they are BOTH very special to me. Actually the 'plain' one even more so b/c those are the ones that we have engraved, and the ones that match each other's.

Re: 2 wedding rings

I have 2 wedding rings, and LOVE it.
One of my bands matches my engagement ring, it has 5 diamonds on it, and my other matches hubbys exactly. I wear that to the grocery store, etc,gym

You do not need both, I have an emerald cut ring, all I did was get my w/band made to match or sit flush against my e-ring. Take your ring to your jeweler and they will be able to make a ring that sits nicely behind your e-ring.
