2 weeks from tomorrow is my wedding and I'm having a favor disaster!

I bought tulle circles to wrap my mini champagne bottles, and they AREN'T BIG ENOUGH! Argh.

Does anyone have any ideas for what else I can use that will not look cheesy?

I'M FALLING BEHIND!

OMG.. I don't know, but you look like you could use a hug

Maybe cover just the top of the bottle & tie the ribbon around the neck?? (I know, it's a bit off the cuff.)

I tried. It kept slipping off. I tried doubling them, everything. They are the 12' circles..I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DON'T FIT!!

I don't want to have to spend 100 bucks on organza bags. But I might have to.

You can buy tulle on the roll. You simply cut two pieces and form a kind of cross and wrap that way then you get the size you need

Why do you have to wrap them????? I think they would look just fine with maybe just a ribbon tied around the neck of the bottle. Maybe you could attatch a card or something with the guests names, or thank you's, or your names & dates. Or you could buy a roll of cellophane and wrap them in that. Good Luck!

How were you tying them around the top? I was thinking you might be able to scrunch the circles so they make a 'ribbon' and tie that around the neck, fluffing the ends into a bow. A little hot melt glue would hold it in place behind the knot. Add a small silk flower in the center of the knot as a accent.

Or, purchase some of the traditional sugared almonds and tie a few of those in the bag with a ribbon that you secure around the neck of the bottle.

Or, can you scrunch the circle, bringing the edges together, and use a 1/8th inch ribbon to tie it so it fluffs like a bow, again, use an accent flower to dress it up and use the ribbon to tie at the neck.

Good luck! And if you do decide to get the bags or something else, check out Papermart.com They have some things that might work and you may be able to get them shipped right away.

Can you go to a store that does favors and ask them to wrap? MAYBE it wont be too much

I tried just about everything mentioned above. I have these adorable little wedding bells that I want to tie around the neck, and i also have the ribbon with our names on them. I'm going in a little while to try and return/exchange the circles, and I have a bottle with me to see if anyone at the store can help me.

Wish me luck! Thanks ladies.

2 weeks and counting.....

Misty,

Can you go to a fabric store and buy a bolt (roll) of tulle? That way you can cut the circles yourself as big as you need them.

I had the SAME problem with my favors. I tried tulle, iridescent cellophane, you name it. They all looked terrible! I was a mess! Finally we found some boxes and decided to box them up (candles), and put them all on a favor table off to the side. I think I was about ready to flip out because of those darn favors!!!

Good luck!!! We're the same day!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!

In terms of the bow idea, have you tried a small little bit of hot glue on the back of the knot???

I don't know where you live, but JoAnn's Fabric Store in Westbury sells the tulle on big rolls so you can cut out the circles as big as you need them. I used it for my E-party and it was pretty easy. Cut out big squares, tie it around the bottle and after it's tied you can trim the top to make it look even. It was easier than using the circles because you could use big amounts to tie it up and it didn't keep falling while trying to tie it. ( I hope this makes sense.) Good Luck.

we wrapped our favors in tule but we bought the bulk rolls from michaels. it was definatly worth it because you can cut the tule to whatever shape or size you need. try that!

i would just put ribbon or raffia around the neck with a thankyou tag. That is what we are probably doing on wine bottles.

There's a card store in Bayhore that sells little tuxes to go on wine bottles...they might be cute to dress the favors up in...they might be toobig for you though ...just an idea.

I agree with just putting a simple satin bowtie on the champagne bottle. That won't look cheeze and it won't cost that much. (and it'll be fast)
