20 passenger school bus?

So shuttles are way too expensive for me to handel!!! I found a guy who will do two trip on a 20 passenger school bus for $300. Do you think it is tacky to have a school bus? FH thinks it's WT, but he doesn't want to spend the money for the coach bus! It would cost us $750 plus tip, so almost $1000! What do you guys think???

I'm doing a school bus as a shuttle. I'm using first student, they gave me excellent prices! A shuttle is a shuttle and who's going to care what it looks like as long as they don't have to drive. If they don't like it s*cks for them!

We are doing school buses!!! We're also picking people up from the ferry and bringing them to the hotels on a school bus! For everything we're getting it's $1600!!! which is about the price of one trip to the ferry!

i am doing a shuttle...through my hotel so you may want to check that out. some hotels offer them for free, but i am paying $300 for as many trips needed to and from the wedding. its only a 13 passenger shuttle but its better than nothing and the price is right imo.

i did once go to a wedding and they have the large school buses take us to/from and it was totally fine so go for it!

Well my mom thinks its tacky, if that makes you feel better. We are getting a big yellow bus as a shuttle, and I thought it would be hilarious to pick the BP up in a short bus! Mom, however, didn't, but I really don't know why.

Its not a bad idea.. I would mostly be concerned with making sure all the seats are completely clean... since they are abused daily by school kids! My hotel is providing shuttles. What is the price difference if you got a regular shuttle?

my brother did it for his wedding and everyone LOVED it and still talk about it!

I really like the idea, the only thing that might be a problem is (if I remember from school trips) those seats are really tight for a regular sized adult.

So if the ride is not too long I don't think it matters. Plus if it was me I would just stand up. I would love not to have to drive back and forth

The coach bus would be around $1000 after tips, 12 passenger vans are $800 after tips. so it's a pretty big difference! I also think I just got FH to agree to the buses, Money talks!!!

I'd just be scared about it being dirty... school buses usually are lol.. I wouldnt want anyone to get gum on them or dirt

Also you could decorate the bus

have them drape the seat in white blankets, decorate the outside with tulle and a big banner that says ur wedding date and names, your good to go.. great idea LOVE IT

I went to my cousins wedding in Fla. We didnt need a bus to the wedding b/c it was at the world golf resort but they used them to get to the Rd! It was perfect!! As long as everyone is safe!

did you talk to your limo place....i had a van picking up my parents at the end of the night....they r going to use that same van an a shuttle first so I only have to pay 150 for the van to come in the beginng of the wedding as a shuttle

The school bus has more personality for pictures on the upside. I may end up doing that too since we have the same RH.

my personal feeling is im going through a lot already, paying a lot of money to throw a wedding, it should be their job to provide their own transportation, i get that it's nice but imo unnecessary and if you cant afford the nicer bus (and i dont blame you thats freakin expensive) i would just leave it and rely on them to find their own transportation, you are throwing a party you dont need to be their chauffeur as well. I wouldn't say tacky but personally i wouldnt do it just because

#1 if i was going to a wedding i would nottt expect the bride to find rides for me

#2 i would not want to be all dressed up looking nice and then get on a school bus, they are really bumpy lol not exactly riding in the style i'd want for a big event, and if the concern is that guests really want to *have a good time* and can't drive their own cars thats probably a bigger problem loll!
