2002 Song Lists

I'm starting to meet with bands and want to give them an idea of what I want played at the wedding. It's hard b/c I really like all kinds of music and for specific songs don't always know what instruments/vocals are needed. I truly think beyond chosing the reception location - finding the right music is the hardest and one of the most important parts of the wedding! DJ's seem easier b/c they just pop in a cd and it sounds perfect - the REAL thing! And they can play all styles equally well :) But my parents really want a band that can play jewish-style music as well as popular American dance songs. I understand that bands/dj's have song lists...but can any of you share your selections - just for fun and to get ideas? Thanks. I know I don't always have time to be a regular poster on this board but I really appreciate all of your suggestions - and think all of us planners are GREAT - never could've imagined this could be so difficult - and stressful at times!

2002 Song Lists

I don`t know how popular Frank Sinatra is with 'the young crowd', but my fiance and I love a few of his songs and plan to have them played by our DJ. One of our favorites is 'Summer Wind'. (we are both 29 , by the way). I love dance music, so I plan to play some of those songs, but that doesn`t help you if you have a band, I don`t think. I think the song, 'We are family' makes a good song, kind of like a dedication song. I can`t think of any others at this moment, but I hope this helps ya a little!

2002 Song Lists

Frank Sinatra is great! Definitely necessary at a wedding, regardless of your age! And as for dance music, a good band should be able to do it. We are having a band and saw quite a few before deciding. Then one we chose plays everything from swing to oldies to dance to motown. I have the name of some sites at home w/ 'wedding song' lists. I'll post it on Monday (i'm going out of town for the weekend). Pepper just remember it's your wedding and anything you enjoy will be go over well. You're the center of the party and if you're having fun so will everyone else!
