2003 brides?-2003wedding......
Well, I am getting married @ the North Ritz Club next September. It is completely renovated and they are renovating all the gardens. The gardens will be finished this summer. I stopped by there this weekend and saw that they were working in the gardens. The Ritz is is a one wedding at a time and that is really what I wanted. Also I feel that it is a very classy catering hall. I went to many places but was not confident with making a decision. When I walked into the North Ritz Club. I knew I wanted it there. You should check it out. Many people are raving about it. Keep in touch!

I can't wait to see the new grounds. I had my tasting last night and Gus told me all they are going to do. They are going to build a bridge over the pond. The chairs will be in by the end of the month. Jericho Turnpike will be covered either by really high trees or a wall. The curtains in the room are being changed (the blue ones!Wallpaper in the bridal suite. I ct wait! I am going back A lot just to see the changes!!

I am so happy to hear about all these changes. It sounds like it is going to look so beautiful. I will go back the end of the month to check out the new chairs. The room is going to look really classy with the new chairs! I can't wait. I told another friend of mine at work to go check out the Ritz and she did.....She fell in love with it also!

I am getting married at John Anthony's in June 2003. It is on the water, and really pretty, with raving reviews from those who have been there.

2003 brides?
I`m getting married April 26, 2003 at John Anthonys. It would be a perfect summer venue for your reception. They were the most reasonable water location I looked at. We have booked the church, hall, photographer, and I`ve ordered my dress. We`re working on booking the DJ and I`m going to look at BM dresses with my girls next month. We`re also in the middle of planning an engagement party in June. It is comforting to know we have plenty of time. Takes a little of the pressure off. If I can be of any help, don`t hesitate to ask.

Thanks for your message. I agree I couldn`t be more pleased with J.Anthonys. Everyone at St. Cyrils is really nice as well. Since we aren`t having a mass, the ceremony is being performed by Deacon John. Such a nice man! My FH`s brother is getting married at St. Cyrils as well. They have Deacon Charlie - they love him as much as we love D John. Thanks for the referral to Tommy Tunes. I`ll definitely check them out. We saw Dancejock play at the recent bridal show @ J.Anthonys, but my FH and parents didn`t like them - I thought they were okay...Let`s definitely keep in touch. Happy planning!

2003wedding (Long)
I think we are going to have pics taken at Belmont Lake State Park. Another bride on the site, Kel, took her pics there and highly recommends it. She also had the same photographer, Michael O`Neill, that I did, and he liked the idea of Belmont as well. It`s also close to the church and on the way to J.A`s. Our time between ceremony & reception is limited. Our ceremony is at 11:00 with cocktail hour starting at 1:00. We hope to catch at least the end part of the cocktail hour cause I consider it the best part of a wedding! (I think we are having a mini-viennese hour but I`d have to check the contract) We book St. Cyrils in either the end of October or early November (can`t remember). We pretty much knew that was the church we were going to use, and once we agreed that J.A`s was the place for the reception, we went ahead and confirmed the date with St. Cyrils. I`m not sure when your date is, but if you`re certain that St. Cyrils is the church you want, then I say book it for peace of mind at the very least. Anything you can get off that list of things to do is one less thing you`ll have to stress over at a later date. Takes the pressure off, if you know what I mean... Good luck and if I can help in any way, feel free to let me know!

Hey Paiz---another place that is nice to take pictures is Arglye Lake(my aunt took pics there (i guess almost 7 years ago now)we posed by that bridgelike thing (it is white) right off of montauk hwy. and then went across the street.. there was a gazebo and she got the boats and the water in the background ... -i have also been looking for picture places and have found an arboretum in i believe great river (right off montauk highway)called the bayard cutting arboretum... i have never seen it but plan on going to see it when the weather gets nicer...........i have another question about st. cyrils--did you have to call the rectory for an appointment? how does it work w/ picking a date, time, and Priest? I have so many questions--I am one of the first of my friends to get married so it is from starting from scratch!! how long was your appointment with them? did you go during the week or weekend? sorry for asking so many questions--it is just nice to know someone who is from the same area!! ....okok i am done for now!!!!!:)

2003wedding and Paiz (Long)
Hi Ladies, 2003Wedding: I am also getting married at Sts. Cyrils and Methodius and having the reception at John Anthony's. I am having Deacon Charlie perform the ceremony. I highly recommend asking for him. He is only in on weekdays, I think between 9 and 3. He is such a nice man with a dynamic personality. He ran our PreCana class and made it extremely touching and special. Father Sangh, who is also very nice, was originally supposed to marry us. However, I didn't feel comfortable with him because he had such a thick accent. Believe me that I feel very badly about changing my mind, but I do not regret making this difficult decision. Anyway, I also recommend steering clear of taking pictures at Argyle Park because, if you look closely, it has become very rundown. I wanted to go to the Arboretum in Oakdale off Sunrise but didn't have enough time to get there. My ceremony starts at 11AM and the cocktail party starts at 1 and I wanted to attend part of the cocktail party. We are taking pictures at Belmont Lake which is both easily accessible and pretty. Actually, I credit this board with helping me to make this decision. Paiz: I chose Tommy Tunes as my DJ. I did not even go to look at anyone else. They were recommended to me by my cousin who saw them at another wedding. Tommy is such a great person to work with and the DJs and MCs not only have lots of energy and pizzaz, but they are cute too! I also saw BodyJock at JA's last week and I was not too impressed. I felt that they were cheesy and a little fake. I definitely recommend making a visit to Tommy Tunes. How are other plans going? Nice talking to you again, I'm sorry that I didn't get to meet you at JA's last week. :-)

Thanks Barbara for the info on St. Cyrils-- I have heard good things about Deacon Charlie......I also didn't realize that Argyle Lake is run down--that is good to know---I haven't 'examined' it lately!!:) I just figured it was close by-that is too bad that it is getting run down---where in belmont lake are you taking pictures?

You're welcome for the info. By the way, I am not the only one who has said this about Argyle Park. Kel from this website suggested to take pictures in front of the mansion and next to the lake. I would also love to get some pictures on the rocks by the little waterfall next to the Southern State and then, if time permits, maybe some pictures on one of the small wooden bridges. By the way, you have to get a permit first. I haven't done that yet, but I will be getting around to it soon. If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Have fun with the planning!
