Hello Ladies! (2003wedding and Barbara)

Sorry I`ve been so silent, but I don`t have access to a computer over the weekends (I`m doing this at work - shhh!:)) In any case, we were considering using Argyle Park as well and heard from ladies on the site that it has gone south in a BIG way. Our photographer suggested the arboretum in Oakdale, but we thought it was too far out of the way. Kel suggested Belmont Lake to us, taking pics up by the mansion and also in some spots by the lake. We plan on going to scout some places in the end of April to get an idea of how the areas will look next year on our date. As for St. Cyrils, we met with D.John during the week for about 1/2 an hour to an hour. They ask some informal questions to 'make sure' you`ve come without reservation, etc. and also take some basic information. If your set on St. Cyrils and you have baptism and confirmation paperwork, it would be a good idea to come with copies of the certificates so they can put them in your file. We called first and talked to Patti (631-667-4044) who takes the basic information and your wedding gets assigned to a deacon. That deacon will call you and set up an appointment for you and your FH to come in to meet. Like I said, we have D.John - who is a sweetheart - and my FH`s brother has D.Charlie - and they abosolutely love him as well. I`m not sure how they handle assignments of priests, as we aren`t having a mass and this didn`t apply to us. I`m sure Patti can explain it to you, she was very helpful! We knew the date we wanted so they checked their date book to make sure the date was free and wrote it in. Come to think of it, we went so early, they didn`t even have a 2003 book yet - so hopefully everything is okay! Our pre-cana is scheduled for May 4 with D.Charlie. They offer many options for pre-cana. Weekly at home meetings, a one day meeting, or a weekend retreat. We`re doing the one-day meeting from 8:30-4:00 to get it over in one shot. If you have any other questions about this or anything else, feel free to ask. I`m the first one of my friends to get married too. It can be a little scary. Keep in touch! Barbara: We will definitely check out Tommy Tunes. I`ve heard nothing but good things about them. Thanks! Otherwise, plans are going well. I have the church and the hall, obviously. I`ve also ordered my dress and chosen the photographer/videographer. DJ is the next big thing and then shopping for the BM dresses.

Good luck with St. Cyrils. I`m sure you`ll have no problem - everyone there is really nice. Thanks for the info on the date - I`ll consider that a good luck charm that it`s your grandparents anniversary day! You can choose the time of the ceremony. It will of course have to coincide with your reception. If memory serves me correctly they have 3 times that you can choose from. They will send you a book describing all their procedures, etc. upon your phone call. It is very helpful in giving you an idea of what to expect. If I can help in any way, let me know. Definitely let me know how you make out. Again, good luck!

Paiz & 2003Wedding

Sorry, I have been away, but I think all of your questions were answered. If I can be of anymore assistance just respond again or my email is [email protected]. Just one question for Paiz: Did you get some sort of booklet in the mail from St. Cyrils? Because I never received anything from them except for the day I went to PreCana. I am actually confused about a couple of things. What is the name of the booklet? Thanks in advance and you're welcome for the other info.

We did receive something in the mail from Patti (secy) upon my initial call. It explained the times of the ceremonys, what is and is not allowed during the ceremony, basically all procedural information. I`ll have to look at the name of the booklet when I get home and get back to you on Monday. On our second meeting with Deacon John, we received another booklet that had the readings we could choose from for the ceremony. Did you get a different book at your precana? Our precana is set for May 4. Which one did you choose? We`re doing the full day one (8:30-4:00?). How was it? Not too painful, I hope. Talk to you soon.

Hi again, I would really appreciate it if you can tell me the name of that booklet. We did the one day PreCana session also, in November, and it was a very touching and wonderful experience. It truly made me feel a little bit closer to Ryan. Deacon Charlie ran it and he has such a great personality and told such interesting stories that the time flew by. There are a couple of those lame movies to watch but one of them (you'll know what I mean when you watch it) was actually very amusing. You'll also get an hour lunch and he lets everyone leave early, so the day isn't as long as it sounds! Have fun!
