Re: 2004 Brides
I am also a 2004 bride. Only 18 months to go ! YIPEE!! We have a lot done so far, I got my dress on a fluke , (I highly recommend Estelles bridal section on rt 110, not chaotic at all, separate from the rest of the store,) video, bm gifts, (Went to QVC outlet in Pennyslavania) picked bridal party, Bm dresses are picked out, photographers, and about to sign on the DJ. Going to listen to him in a few weeks. We know the florist also because my family always uses them . If you want any pointers you can e mail me here . I would be happy to help. I seem to be too organized, if there is such a thing. I guess it is because my parents are both deceased, it is hard to do this on our own.
I see we are using the same videographer!!!

Re: 2004 Brides
I am sorry to hear that your parents will not physically be with you on your wedding day but they will be there in their own way. I noticed that we are both using Bellarino Video too. I am so very organized. I have already booked church, reception hall, videographer, photographer, DJ and Limo. I too know the florist I want to use, since it is a florist I use all the time. I have already brought our parents gifts, ordered BM and Ushers gifts and started buying gifts for MOH and BMs and already have a wedding snowglobe that I want to put on the table with the cake. I have also already brought our unity candle and stand for church. Do you think I am organized too? I have not started looking for dresses in the store but I have looked in magazines and on the internet. I thought I would start looking for dresses in the store around March or April of next year. Where is your reception going to be held?

Re: 2004 Brides
I'm a 2004 bride. Well so far I've been researching online and checking out all of my options. I've been looking through this website reading everyones opinions. I figure I still have time, so by the new year I should be starting to book placees.

Re: 2004 Brides
You do have time but I booked everything now because you pay the price of this year and not next year. I think that since we booked so early, we probably saved about $3,000-$4,000.

Re: 2004 Brides
Do you girls think it is to earlier to start looking for my dress? I was going to start either March or April of next year. Is that enough time?

Re: 2004 Brides
I feel like such a slacker!!
We're getting married in May 2004 and so far we've only booked the reception hall and the church and the florist(well we haven't officially booked the florist yet, but FH's family uses him all the time and we're using him for the e-party). Our engagement party is Oct. 5th and we plan on looking for the other vendors right after that. NYLisa: As for dress shopping, I plan on starting then also. I just won't have any other time to do it. I'm graduating law school in May of 2003 then taking the bar at the end of July 2003 and I don't want to wait til August 2003 to start looking. So I'll probably start the week of spring break. I can't wait!!!!

Re: 2004 Brides
nylisa, your right about the prices, I guess I should start moving then. Thanks for giving me an extra push. It just feels like so far away, but I guess it's really not. I'm going to start as soon as possible.

Re: 2004 Brides
Marcela1651, thank you for letting me know that I am not the only one looking next year for my dress. I can not believe that I only 24 months (exactly 24 months from next Wednesday) to go and I thought that 31 months was going to take a long time.

Re: 2004 Brides
NYLisa: I know me too!! I remember thinking in February (when we got engaged) that we had soo long to go for the engagement party and here we are 3 weeks away from it and 18 months away from our wedding date. The time is really flying, I think (My FH disagrees..he hates waiting
). In no time, we'll be getting married!!!

Re: 2004 Brides
So I must be the ultimate slacker! All I have so far is the reception and my church
I want to finish planning the engagement party first. But I am going to look at video and photography this year before I get hit with the price hike!
nylisa-How were you able to figure out that you saved so much money?

Re: 2004 Brides
CW: How's the planning for the e-party going? When is it? How did the RSVP by cell phone voicemail work out?Our e-party is on Oct 5th and I'm freaking out cause I don't have enough time to do everything!!!! On top of that FH's parents went to Greece for 3 weeks(they aren't coming back till a week before the e-party
) and all the people who haven't responded are their friends!!! And FH doesn't want to call them b/c he doesn't even know half of them!!! WHY CAN'T PEOPLE JUST SEND RSVP'S BACK!! IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT!! Sorry for the vent

Re: 2004 Brides
I asked each vendor what their hike up percentage is from one year to another and about what do they think the same package would cost me if I booked next year.

Re: 2004 Brides
Part of the reason we r booking things now is the rate hike and also paying for the wedding ourselves. I have a good invitation/announce,ment person if anyone needs it.Are any of you getting sick of having to defend why you are getting married in 2004, because I gave up telling people 2004 I just tell them 18 months, it is not to far away. Even though it seems like it will never get here!Welcome New Vendors
