Cecil: Yes I hate explaining to everybody!! When I tell people 2004, they just look at me and say 'oh'. Then I get defensive and explain to them why we're waiting, like it's anyone business anyway. The only thing that matters to me is that our families support us 100% in our decision and my FH and I are happy with our decision. I don't care what anyone else says about it. We're waiting because it is the right thing for US!!

I thought I was the only 2004 bride! Now I see I'm definitely not alone! All we have is the hall and a general idea of the dresses I'd like for BM's.

I agree with all of you 100%. When we first set the date, everyone could not believe that we were waiting about 2 1/2 years to get married. I told them that we have to save in order to pay for it and that, we are not financially ready to get married now. After I told everyone that, I thought to myself, why should I have to tell them why I want to get married in 2 1/2 years. Time does go by quickly, I can not believe that I am engaged already 7 months and exactly 2 years from this coming Wednesday I will be married. I just tell people now that they have alot of time to save for all my gifts. They laugh at that. I really think that no one should care when someone else wants to get married.

I completely agree with having to 'explain' ourselves when people ask why 2004??!! I usually follow it up with 'I'm planning from out of town, that's why'...but why should I explain?
Next time someone makes a comment, I'm going to ask for a donation so we can get married a little sooner..hehe!

I am glad I am not alone either. I also want to tell people that they can give to the wedding fund if they have a problem with it.I have gotten witty and told them thay also! Gosh, I hate working with the public!
