2004 Brides...What have you done so far?
Hi everybody! I'm getting married in May 2004.
So far I've booked the reception and made an appointment to see the band they recommended. How far in advance should I be doing everything else, like booking hotel rooms for out-of-towners, flowers, photographers, etc.? What have you guys done so far?

Re: 2004 Brides...What have you done so far?
I am an April 16, 2004 bride and so far we have:the reception hall- East Wind
the church- Hope Lutheran in Selden
registered at Macy's and Fortunoff's
currently looking at photographers, videographers, bands, djs, and flowers
I figured it was too early for the dress but I guess I'm wrong if other people already have theirs.
What else should I be doing right now?

Re: 2004 Brides...What have you done so far?
It's up to you...lots of people have different views...But I say book the major vendors as soon as possible. Here is why. My church was booked 2 years and 3 months ahead. My photographer had locked the date in before I actually signed (I know him for years)..He had to tell at least a dozen people that my day was taken...over 2 years ahead. As far as the flowers and things...I am going to wait till after the new year.In the mean time I am just gathering ideas and pics of the things I want

Re: 2004 Brides...What have you done so far?
My date is 4/25/04. So far we only have the hall. My FI and I are going to look @ churches this week. And we're going to a showcase at the hall to check out the house vendors they recommend. We want to lock in '02 rates, while we can. So, by end of year we should have photographer/videographer; florist; and dj or band.

Wow. People have a lot done! I only have my hall and ceremony location (same place). I registered, but I think my e-party is taking away a lot of my wedding planning focus. I should have a photographer by the end of Nov. I wish I had more to get the '02 prices, but time has been an issue.

Re: 2004 Brides...What have you done so far?
I am 3/5/04 and we have the reception hall, church, video and photography done. I am going to start making appts for florists this week. The reason I did this was so that we could get the good vendors for our date and also so we could get 2002 rates not 2003. It has saved us a bit of money. Nylisa gave me that tip.
I am so glad to see other 2004 brides on the board!

Re: 2004 Brides...What have you done so far?
Another 2004 bride here (9/18/04). I have the church booked, reception hall (Manor East) booked, videographer, photographer, DJ and Limos. I have also started to buy gifts for my MOH and BMs and left a deposit for gifts for our Best Man and GM and have already brought our parents gifts. We also have our figurine for the table with our cake (my parents brought us the mickey and minnie bride and groom snowglobe as part of our engagement gift), our perferred placecards that I ordered. We are going to go to the Florist in September (2003) and I am going to start looking for dresses next (2003) March or April. I have done all this and we have been in engaged almost nine months (Feb. 16th).Welcome New Vendors
