Re: 2005 Brides.....
Welcome all new 2005 brides!! Congrats on your engagements!! I've updated our list - anyone not on it???
I WENT DRESS SHOPPING ON STATURDAY!!
It was short but fun!! I only went to Fontana's for the trunk show they were having for Justina McCaffrey. The designer was there and he showed me their 2004 line which hasnt been made public yet (It will tonight).
I serioulsy found the dress - they didnt have the dress I wanted but the had one that had a similar bodice and a different skirt. Gorgeous - i cant find a pic of it on their website though bec it was made exclusively for Fontana. I absolutely love it!! Unfortunately major sticker shock!! I am going to continue searching for dresses though - maybe get a better price. A dress that is over $6K (without veil and tiara) is just way too much considering I am not even going to be wearing it for 12 hours.

Re: 2005 Brides.....
I'm trying to add my 'Meet & Greet' but I'm having trouble ... let's see if this works!
Name: Lisa & Gregg Started dating: On & off during our college years and then finally got together for good in 2001. Engaged: August 15, 2003 - the day after the blackout! Wedding: January 7, 2005 at the Westbury Manor Church: Sacred Heart in Queens Florist: Enchanted Florist That's all I have so far ... so much left to do!
Jan05bride - Thanks for adding to the meet and greet!!! That is so cool that your FH proposed the day after the blackout - how did he propose? Was it orignially planned for that day and he just didnt change his plans?
Girls, add to the meet and greet - there are a whole bunch of us!!!

Re: 2005 Brides.....
The Enagagement:
He originally had planned to take me to the Empire State Building (where we shared our first kiss many years ago) but because of the Blackout he couldn't arrange it. Then he tried to get me to make plans for dinner and I kept saying No No No, I don't want us to get food poisoning, please for one night let's just eat home (and BBQ all the defrosted food!) So FINALLY, he took me to a park near our house, bought me ice cream, we sat on beach chairs for a while talking and then he got down on one knee and asked me. 4 p.m. in the afternoon! After all his plans, it was absolutely the perfect way to ask me!

Re: 2005 Brides.....
I am on my way to becomming a 2005 bride!!
My fiance and I are interested in planning our wedding on Long Island (not too far out, Nassau preferrably) in December of 2005. All of the websites look beautiful but I don't want to waste a lot of time going to see places that aren't what we are looking for.
-We would like to get married around Christmas. Are there any halls that decorate particularly beautifully for the holidays? -We are looking in the range of about $60 to $75 per person for around 200 people. (Fri and Sun are ok) -Food MUST be delicious!
Can anyone help??

Re: 2005 Brides.....
Hi girls, I am also a 2005 bride. I was crisct but this is my new screen name. I booked my church and hall, the Watermill for July 3, 2005. I'm so excited. I thought I was crazy for looking at stuff already but I'm glad I started. Jenn from Fairytale makeovers is booked for my day and Denise Venti will be away. I was really hoping on getting them for hair and makeup. Oh well, lots of work ahead of me! Happy Planning!
