Re: 2005 Brides.....
Has anyone here gone to see the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport, Long Island or has been to a wedding where Philip Stone Caterers was the caterer?? I held two dates in August 2005 with the Vandervilt Mansion but now I am thinking about maybe having it at the Vanderbilt Museum.......any advice?
Thanks in advance!!

Re: 2005 Brides.....
Hey all,
I just wanted to say that my bride-to-be and I have been reading your postings for the last week. We got engaged on November 1, 2003 and we just booked Jericho Terrace for July 3, 2005.
You ladies have been a big help to us with making certain decisions on the hall.

I know it's hard but try to be patient! Chances are, if you start shopping now, you'll order soon. Then you'll have WAY too much time to reconsider your purchase. Fashions will change, new gown designs will debut, your tastes may change, and you'll be tempted! I would definitely wait. I'm waiting until January of 2004 - 1 year and 4 months out before I start looking. I've read sooo many stories of girls who bought their gown way too early and are now trying to sell them on e-bay!

I just started my new job this week and things are still pretty quiet, so this seems like the perfect way to pass the time!

Re: 2005 Brides.....
Hey girls, I was happy to hear that other girls are feeling the same way as me. My engagement period is 1 year and 10 months, which feels like forever. We already have place, photographer, band, and minister. I am BORED!!!!! What should be my next project? The major advantage to be a 2005 bride is having first choice with all the vendors. We don't have to settle on anything. Another thing is obviously, saving money.........although it's my fiancee who has to keep reminding me that. He also says to me...... I am going to look back on this time and ask why did I want to rush it? Being engaged is supposed to be one of the most fun times in our lives. I know he's right, but I can't wait to just start our marriage.
What else gets you guys through that long countdown???

Re: 2005 Brides.....
Welcome Gagie24! So, since I have so much else going on these days, like teaching all day, then teaching again all night, moving, the holidays, etc, it keeps me busy enough to not even realize that time is slowly ticking by until our wedding. I really am enjoying being engaged, though. I mean, I'll always remember this time in my life, unlike my mother and father who got married right away and barely had an engagement. If someone gave me money and said, here get married tomorrow, do it your way and spend as much as you want, I'd still want to wait. We're very inlove with our date now. I don't know why or how, but we are
