LIWeddings decided not to have separate boards anymore- that is ok - we have our quite little niche over here - and once tehre are an insane amount of 2005 brides - the thread wont get lost as much -

Anything for a fellow North Ritz Bride

Hey everyone.

I'm just writing to say that I am no longer a 2005 bride anymore.

Unfortunately, this week, FH's father became seriously ill and has to have surgery tomorrow amputate part of his right leg. We've decided to postpone the wedding until April 2006 to allow for healing time and the extensive therapy that he will require upon leaving the hospital.

We made all of our phone calls to the hall and vendors yesterday and the new date has been set for April 29, 2006 at The Inn @ East Wind Southampton Ballroom. Sorry that this is so long.

Best Wishes to all of you! I look forward to hearing the rest of your planning.

OMG Gina - I am so sorry!! I can't imagine how you, your FH and your families are feeling right now. My prayers are with you and your FH for a speedy and healthy recovery- don't feel like you cant post on the 2005 thread just because you changed your date.

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers, Georgia. It means so much. Surprisingly enough, the families are all hanging in there and staying positive at this point. Unfortunately, for me I had to go through this a few years ago with my own father. He is a diabetic amputee and doing quite well, thank goodness.

I will definitely continue to post on the 2005 board. Everyone is so full of good advice

chris&james: unfortunately they're doing away with yearly boards, so we're out of luck for getting our own '05 board.

Thanks for adding me to the list! Glad the 2005 list is growing. So far i have the place, and photographer! I am trying to start looking for the band....I also live in Manhattan so it can be challenging to attend the band showcases and other planning!
