2006 Brides!!!

I am from Queens, me and my fiance been together for 2 years now and I got engaged on July 20, 2004, my b'day ...Very glad to be on this site, you ladies are wonderful and I have received great helpful information from everyone... I will enjoy sharing my planning experiences with you guys for the next year and a half to come......Let's get this started girls......

Hi MsKitty (& everyone else). We are two months and a day away from eachother. Wow I can't believe how many '06 brides are on here now. I posted a message on friday from work and haven't been able to get on from home (computer is on the fritz )

In response to your question, my min for the penthouse is 175 - - I originally wanted the skylight room but one of my main concerns is to NOT have people smooshed at the CH or at the reception tables (it's just a thing that I have in my AR head lol). Both FH and I thought that the CH room that went with the skylight room was a little too small and could not accomodate all guests to sit down and enjoy CH. I loved the garden CH room, & loved the skylight room, but they don't go together so that's why we went w/ the penthouse. Don't get me wrong, I love the penthouse room too but my 1st choice was the skylight room. Compromise, compromise!

p.s. I've was @ JT last summer for a friend's wedding - - the food was unbelievable! Great service too. My sister (MOH) got married there in 1994 (pre-renovations). It's not the reason WHY we booked there but the food and service is what I remember the most and made me go back - - so now it's like a family tradition thing

I haven't done any other bookings yet as far as photographer/video etc.

Maybe we could meet up at the bridal showcase that the JT is having on 11/17 I think?! I would really like to see their house vendors in action - personalities, work etc.

Same for us...We are paying for the wedding ourselves and it takes time to save $$ for all those people we want to invite & we can't see paying rent either so we are hoping that we can buy a house in the interim. We contemplated having a small-just family wedding but we really wanted our friends there too! You know the old saying if you invite one you must invite all!!

Yes, that'd be great! I had a great time at the showcase in Sept! We had not booked at that time, but knew we were going to!

I agree, their service is great. A close friend of mine was married there (Skylight room) 6 yrs ago and the service was great. Even at the showcase, the bartenders and servers (they had passed hors d'ouvers) were VERY nice.

Can't Wait til 2006! My countdown clock says 617 days!!! TOO MANY!

Hi '06 Brides! Congrats & Happy Planning!

I have to admit, I've been a silent reader, but am just so excited that I wanted to share the great news that WE BOOKED OUR HALL!!! - - It's at the Jericho Terrace on 04/28/06. Wheww, I feel like a lot has been lifted (My FI told me I was turning into bridezilla-I'm a bit picky). So far, I have the Hall & the Church (as of yesterday lol)

We went to so many places on LI and I just 'felt it' at JT. Any comments on Jericho Terrace would be greatly appreciated!! I see a couple of us 'JT' brides in here!! I really do love it there. We have the Garden room for CH and the Penthouse for Recep. We walked out feeling that we got a great deal - - so we were both happy!!

I see that you are getting married at WCC...that was my other choice - - I was contemplating between Jericho Terrace and WCC for weeks for that VERY SAME DAY. what a small world... I loved the outside of WCC, you'll get great pics there!!

Wow, that is pretty funny! Definitely a small world! It does have some nice grounds...lets hope I can enjoy them on the day. April can be iffy but thats the chance I took plus..the price was right!

Like I said before, Jericho Terrace is great.
Their house DJ is Body Rock. She chose them and they were good. Im sure you will see all this at their showcase.

Lots of luck to you as well. Im sure we all will be talking a lot more about our plans!
Wont be too long when we get out own board and not have to use this post anymore!
