Congrats to those who have gotten married this year, and to those about to :)
My question is in regards to the standard length of time I should give guests to have them get the response cards back to me.
I plan on sending out the invites about 8 weeks in advance, is that a good length of time?
How far away was the RSVP date, from the wedding date?

Hi! We sent our invites out 8 weeks before the wedding, with the RSVP date 4 weeks after that (4 weeks prior to wedding). Good luck!

that is what I did and it was PERFECT!!! enough time to get everyone checked off and there were no surprises in the end...
the RSVP date was exactly one month before.

I did a longer timeline. I sent my invites 3 months in advance and had the RSVP date 6 weeks before. It took about an extra 2 - 3 weeks to track down the final straggling RSVPs. I was glad I had the extra time.
Do what seems comfortable to you! I think 2 months and 1 month is the 'norm' so to speak.

2 months to respond and the rsvp date is one month prior to the wedding day

ooops...i set the deadline for 3 weeks before i need the number.....but i'm going to send them out next week (that gives me 9 weeks?) plus, we're only inviting 136 ppl. so less to track down!

My RSVP date is about 1 month before my wedding. My wedding is 8/21 my rsvp is 7/18 hth! Good Luck!

We sent ours 6 weeks before our wedding and had an RSVP date of 3 weeks before our wedding.
I dont think it matters, you have to end up harrassing people by calling them b/c eventhough you provide a stamp, people are lazy and wont send anything back. Be prepared to make a ton of phone calls.
