Thanks to this site I was able to splurge on my wedding. I found everything in this forum!! and I made wonderful friends.
Memories ---- oh the popcorn with certain girls at the beginning(2008) overy silly things but I know we are all happily married now! and I even have them as FB friends <3 LIW love for all my 2010 girls <3

Without LIW I honestly do not know how my wedding would have actually been planned. I found my photographer, make up artist, limo company, reception hall, etc through this site. I would never have even realized I could negotiate with vendors, that it is normal to change your mind about your wedding dress, known what uplighting was or a name plaque, that DIY invitations were even an option, and so much more. Basically, without LIW, my wedding would be missing a lot of the big and little details that made the day memorable!

LIW helped us plan our wedding in so many ways, I feel like LIW is should be called the “ultimate wedding planner”. We got so many ideas from this site; from 2010 brides, past brides and LIW events. This site gave me the guts to take on so many DIY projects. That really made our wedding unique, including our wedding invitations (that I said I would never do).
I am so happy that my DH found this website in our early planning – this site and the 2010 girls made our wedding be the wedding of our dreams.

This website eased a lot of worry for me and DH. Since DH and I had to financially take care of the entire wedding, this site was able to give me ideas that made my wedding feel like it was platinum without breaking the bank! I loved the price compare list you guys had for the different venues and vendors, and the forums which were the biggest help - talking to the other girls, especially around my date, and having similar ideas - awesome idea. It has also gotten me some new friends. :)
The only real 2010 moment that stuck out for me was the entire thread on who pees in the ocean. LOL. That thread made me laugh. Unfortunately, I came to the boards to late. Darn tax season!

Without LIW, I would have never been able to afford a photobooth. The outrageous prices I was getting for other companies was really disheartening. I also wouldn't have learned about Lovemore Photo and I can confidently say our TTD shoot wouldn't have been the same!
What really stands out for me, and what made my wedding unique was something I learned on LIW - the memory candle for those who passed away and the photo collage of those who passed. I'd never heard of anyone doing this nor had I ever seen it at a wedding before. I included all of my grandparents who passed, along with DHs uncle and grandfather, and my stepmother's father. Never would I have thought to do this on my own. It really meant so much to alot of people. So thank you LIWeddings!!

Without LIW I wouldn't have had pocket invites (my favorite DIY) or a themed card box!
I also wouldn't have had my sanity! I felt like talking weddings with people who want to hear it gave me great ideas and kept me from killing DH! I've recommended this site to EVERY new bride because of that

Reviews on LIW led DH and I to book many of our vendors - but the one that stood out SO MUCH for us was our DJ, FM Entertainment. As a multi-culti couple, we really needed someone who could incorporate a large mix of music genres - country, Bollywood, 80's, rock - and Frank from FM did it with ease. They were awesome, and I say this about once a month - I wish that I could throw another huge party just to have a reason to hire them again! :)
In addition to gaining information through the site, I gained a bunch of awesome friends on here! :)

LIW had so much to do with our wedding planning....
The Wedding of the Year 2009 DJ impressed my friend and I so much, that we wound up hiring them to do our wedding. We loved After Hours Entertainment.
Also without LIWeddings, I would have gone with a photographer that I had met at a wedding show and thought I liked, but then I saw more of the studios work, and decided to keep looking. The 2008 bride for TWOTY and I had been talking, and she recommended that we check out Duet. I had loved their photos, but thought they were out of our price range. She convinced us to go and check them out, and we were thrilled.
Also, through the 2010 Bridal Shower I found the vendor for our grooms cake, which DH absolutely LOVED!
My alterationist was a LIW vendor, and you could not tell that any work was done on my dress..
It was also through LIW reviews that I found my hair dresser, Hair Sculpting by Renee, who kept me sane and calm so early in the morning in January
And Oksana.... OHHHH Oksana. How I love her work, and how I loved how she made me look. She was one of hte first vendors I fell in love with from LIW.
Then there are all the things that I never knew I needed that we wound up with, including: Card Box Signature Photo Save the Date Magnets Pocket fold Invites Out of Town Bags customized menus
I dont think our wedding would have been what it was wihtout LIW. I remember when I first joined this site in I think 2006, we werent sure if we were 2009 or 2010, and when you finally opened the 2010 forum, I was one of the original 10 of 10, and the very first meet up at Dave and Busters in Westbury and trying on dresses at Davids Bridal.
Its been fun times, and I dont want to see our board closed, but I know its our time (but we can still haunt the boards)
