At what point did you bustle your dress? And do you have any regrets about it? I'm thinking of doing it after the pictures are taken at the RH (so before our CH). My Mom thinks that people who didn't go to the Church should be able to see the whole dress but I hate the idea of holding the train during the first dance.
Any advice? TIA

I bustled before the CH - the back of my dress was beautiful but I didn't want to hold it during the first dance or during the CH either.

I bustled after we took pics and before we went to cocktail hour, I didn't want people stepping on my dress or have to hold it.

we arrived during our CH & took some pics on the dock at our RH. Then DH & I , the bridal party & both sets of parents came up to the bridal suite & we finished CH just us & I got bustled at that time.

I bustled mine when we were done taking pictures (right before I went into the CH). I didn't want people stepping all over it and me tripping all over it while I was trying to eat and drink and talk.

I bustled as soon as all of our pics were finished-during cocktail hour. I didn't regret it at all!! I had such a long veil, I held it for the first dance.

Bustled after the first dance. My only regret: The seamstress added a ribbon 'handle' that I was supposed to pull through my train and hold onto instead of holding the whole train draped over my arm for the first dance. Well, I didn't realize I had grabbed the ribbon in my right hand and that is the hand I use to hold for slow dancing (left hand around DHs waist, right hand in his left hand). So, for our first dance pic, you see this... I am so upset and no one pointed this out to me.
I unbustled in the middle of the night for more pictures that I thought of spur pf the moment on the lobby staircase. Then rebustled after that.
