2011 Bride here- vendor info I want to share
Disclaimer: if you DO go with this vendor or did already, its entirely possible that you will have a great experience with them. This was just my example and certainly doesn't put this outcome in stone
I had a big bridal party (22 ppl) and then parents and peoples wifes and husbands and ended up needing a GIANT bus, which I got with Five Town Limo.
The bus was GREAT. HUGE, clean, with music and lights. It was really amazing and had such a WOW factor. When we were on our way to the reception hall, we noticed he passed it. So we went up to talk to him, and he told my husband that he put the wrong address into the GPS. Ok, that's fine. He turns the giant bus around (which is quite a task!) and when we get into the lounge they set up for us (at Larkfield Manor by the way...THEY were PERFECT) my husband comes over to me and says that the driver said something to him that he thought was a joke about going into extra time and something about $200 for the extra hour...we walked in the hall at 6:15, and we were supposed to get there at 6. So...I shrugged it off, until I saw my father walk into the room REALLY angry, and I realized that no one was letting me leave the room. So then I walked out, and saw....
In the LOBBY OF MY WEDDING, my DOC clearly trying to explain something, the driver, angrily answering her back, and a POLICEMAN!!!
note: people are walking into my wedding!!!
Turns out, the driver IMMEDIATLY called the police for the $200 for the 'extra hour' which he caused by putting in the wrong address. My doc and the cop kept saying to him 'can we please take this outside' and his answer was 'NO! WE ARE DOING THIS IN FRONT OF EVERYONE!!!'
First, my DOC told him that there is a customary 15 min grace period that everyone in the industry pretty much goes by. Additionally, we would not have been late if he had put the right address into the gps. So here I am, watching my father walk in and out while a man fights with my DOC and a cop over $200 at my wedding in front of guests. Now,I know $200 doesn't seem like a lot, but listen, my parents didn't pay for my wedding...me and my husband did. And anyone who is in that position knows that there is NO money that 'isnt a lot of money' especially on the day of when you are paying everyone.
In the end, (after what seemed like hours of arguing) my father angrily threw money at him (after almost getting cuffed because he is SUCH a guido and wanted to break his arms) and the guy left.
NOW - even though I know he is wrong, I can't begrudge a business man disputing something if he wants to get paid/feels he should get paid for something. But, to bring a cop into a wedding?
AND the cop told my DOC that this is not the first time they have had the same issue with the same driver. (who is also the owner.)
Thats my issue. Honestly, I have to call this guy and take care of it, but at this point the only thing that I am mad about is that I didn't get a picture with the cop!!
But the truth is that it was embarrassing, dishonest, and no way to do business. It was a shame to, because everything was good up until that point. A $200 issue could have been even dealt with after the wedding, when I got back from my honeymoon if he REALLY thought he was owed the money. But to make such a fuss in that fashion was so shocking and inappropriate.
Hope this helps anyone who was thinking about them. I don't know if this is what this guy does, or if he for some reason just thought he wsa REALLY entitled to the $200, but it was a nightmare. I mean...it didnt ruin anything- but still!!! I did't get a picture with the cop! I would pay $200 for a picture witha cop at my wedding!!!!
