FH and I are thinking about pushing back the wedding to 2012 after doing some research on costs. We have money saved but unfortunately not much help from the parents and I would really like to have a sit down dinner, beautiful dress, awesome venue, lots and lots of flowers, the whole 9 yards, etc etc!!!!!
Im looking at the positive side and telling myself there is no rush, but cant help but be a bit disappointed

I would LOVE to marry my FH tomorrow if I could. It is disappointing, but you can save more money and have the wedding of your dreams. It'll all work out.

And us 2012 brides are really nice also....although I am sure the 2011 ones are too.
People always ask me why we are waiting so long. I always say when you are paying for it yourself you need more time to save.
The way I look at it. This is forever so what's the rush

My FH and I were originally trying to book 2011, but when we sat down and discussed what we wanted, were willing to negotiate and the items that were non negotiable, it dawned on us that we would need more time. I rather wait a bit longer to get married (we live together and have a son already) than go broke and in debt trying to make it all happen.
2012 will sneak up before you know it.....You'll be thankful for the time to really do your research and find the great deals!

You only get married once so in my eyes I want it to be PERFECT & EVERYTHING I ALWAYS DREAMED IT WOULD BE....if that means waiting 2 years then so be it!

FH and I were going to get married in the summer if 2011 and realized that it just wasn't the right time for us (he is in Med School and the timing was just off). So we pushed it back to March 2012 and everything now is working out better than I thought it would. I have a beautiful RH for a reasonable price and we will go on an amazing honeymoon because it is right before my spring break (I'm a teacher) so things always work out the way they are supposed to!

I know it's disappointing because you can't wait to marry your FH and start the next chapter of your lives together but pushing your date back will allow you to save more and have the wedding you've always dreamed of.

I get that you are dissapointed. But, i think of it this way, are you going to be more disappointed waiting OR are you going to be more dissapoined not getting everything you want?
That helped me to make my decision! I knew that FH would be there in 2 years and that the money would be there also. I also knew that the time would fly, which it is, i cant believe its already been almost 6 months that im engaged!!

Come to our year! We are waiting until 2012 so everything can be done just how we want it. I think pushing back a little will be a lot less disappointing in the long run than settling for things you don't want to get married sooner.
You will still be in love everyday up to the wedding and wedding planning is too much fun to rush anyway!

I think the planning and excitement leading up to the wedding is the best part! And you have time to to think things through. Plus us 2012 girls are fantastic join us!!
