FH and I are thinking about pushing back the wedding to 2012 after doing some research on costs. We have money saved but unfortunately not much help from the parents and I would really like to have a sit down dinner, beautiful dress, awesome venue, lots and lots of flowers, the whole 9 yards, etc etc!!!!!
Im looking at the positive side and telling myself there is no rush, but cant help but be a bit disappointed

ITA!! we pushed back our wedding ( our final decision.we were debating between 2011 and 2012 too many times.) and it was the best thing we ever did .. however pushing back can make you think you have all the time in the world. if you arent going to tuck a ton of money away for 2012. I would say get married in 2011.. thats why we didnt go with 2012..
we just scaled back on everyyyyything.. from photo, video etc etc
our hall is soo reasonable because we were flexible.. maybe you need to make a few changes to make it work -- you have FM

You shouldnt feel sad. Its gonna be the most wonderful memorable day of your life. All eyes will be on you, the bride. Its your day and you should have it exactly the way you want it. I wish I could push my day back but we want to start having kids so 2011 it is. But I will make sure my day goes the way I want. A few cost effective changes but it will happen.
If you are really bummed out about your 2012 date, try to figure how you can spend less without sacrificing too much of the important things. Its doable.

same here I am already married and lice together with 2 beautiful daughters.. after booking and speaking to a vendors, future brides etc.. we decided to do it 2013, we also are not getting any help and it will be paid all cash,,, we rather do it with time and do it right...
No worries gives us more time to blog here and help each other out..

I was going to be a 2013 bride but pushed my wedding up to 2012 because me and my FH have been together since 2005.

OMG!!! the same thing happened to me!!
LOL dont worry!! i was originally really bummed...my date was 7/17/2011 but NOW i had to move it to 8/12/12
dont worry!! you will be able to get more things that you want, and really work your budget...if you have a 2011 wedding you really wont get everything that you want....you can actually plan more now and work your budget
just remember, we have to be realistic with our budgets and make it beautiful with what we have. now that i am a 2012 bride, i love it!! and im MORE excited because i can actually plan instead of search for the cheapest things, or take things out because i cant afford them....
