2011 brides... when do you typically have a bridal shower?

Since our wedding is in Nov 2011... when do we have a bridal shower? Im not planning it but I am 'assisting' my MOH and mom..

I would say anywhere from 2-3 months before the wedding is good (so for your case August/September). Though I recently went to a bridal shower this past November and the wedding isn't until April of this year (I think it was done this way to catch her off guard).

I am having mine 6 months or more before the wedding. I am having alot of OOT guests and I dont want them to have to shell out so much money at one time (airfair, hotel, bridal shower gift maybe a rental car). I'm also having 2 showers...one here in NY and 1 in FL. Both FH and I have a large part of our family in FL and they all have children. We didnt want them to have to travel here twice. I think you can have it when its convient for you, FH and your family

normally it's 3 months before the wedding. But every bride is different. One of my friends had their shower a year before they got married. Another had her's a week before the wedding. Personally, I'll be having mine 2 months before, because the 3 month mark falls around christmas.

thanks ladies.. ill just hint to MOH (aka my sis) and mom to have it anytime in late Spring/ early Summer 2011 ... i dont want to be bothered 6 mths before the wedding (thats my only bridezilla request)

usually 2-3 months before the wedding. since for me that is xmas/new years and the weather might start to get crummmy I told my mom that I want mine in Nov.

Since my wedding is in September I told my Mom and sister to plan mines in the middle of June.

my mom and i figured that it would be in January since the wedding is in March...so about 2 months

ive also heard it's about 2-3 mo before but i think we are doing mine about 6 months before for similar reasons as panamasweet (Charonda)
