2012 Bridal Shower

Hi Girls:

I had posted a little while back about being willing to organize (with the help of those who volunteered) the 2012 Bridal Shower.

I thought October would be a good month to do it in (I mean October is my birthday month so how can it be a bad month!).

I looked at the calendar and picked Sunday October 23rd. How does that sound for people.

I was thinking that we could have it in a private room in a restaurante or something. I figure Eastern Nassau probably makes the most sense since we have a lot of Suffolk girls here!

Post (1) whether October 23rd is ok with you, and (2) any suggested venues.

Oct 23rd works for me, question what does the Bridal Shower entail? Im actually not having one being its my 2nd wedding so I would def be up for this lol

Everyone who is attending would be assigned a secret bride and you would be given where they are registered so that you can purchase someone (a limit will be added $25 or something like that).

Also we will be getting donations from various vendors and have a raffle.

Also there will be a 50/50. Half of the money would go to the winner and the other half a charity we choose.

Basically we can make it as big or little as we want. No rules!

I will find the place and once I do I will post the price. I will have people mail me the checks and once I have enough for the minimum I will book the place.

I have no venues right now, I'll do some brainstorming but I'd be willing to help you with whatever you need. As an event planner, I throw tons of charity events throughout the year. I'm especially good at getting donations from vendors.

oh wow that sounds like so much fun. im so excited. hmmm what if someone isnt registered i wont be. maybe gift certicate?

October is my birthday month too!!!
That's very close to my bday actually!
I'm biased on location though because I'm not even in long Island. I would prefer Nassau, but I'm sure I'll be plenty of fun!

We will figure out something. You can give stores you like or something like that!

That date works for me as of right now!

I suggest la piazza in merrick! they have a room for parties, though might be too big, don't know how many we will expect to have!

Stephanie... I will definitely take you up on that. Getting donations is something I hate doing!

so far i have no plans for that date and I am willing to help wherever possible. Just please don't make the location too far out in L.I. we do have a lot of Queens/brooklyn and Bronx girls too. And it is only March, we can have way more girls joining over the months to come from the outer boroughs too. Just a thought

How about doing it in a location where past LIW bRidal showers have been?? Perhaps that could be a start?

I have been to a few showers at Chinese Buffets which give you a private room & a pp price! Just a thought

I love this idea. I'll have to get back to you as it get's closer. It is WAY to far away for me to even think about October
