2012 Bridal Shower

Donn'a post about a 2012 wine tour got me thinking....

What about if we planned the 2012 bridal shower in October or November and have it as a wine tour.

We can get a party bus. Have it make a stop in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk and then bring us to the vineyards. Then we can set up to have a lunch at one of the vineyards.

What do you guys think about this?

I LOVE IT!!! FH did this back in July for my surprise 30th birthday party. I can find out info from him if you want. We went in a 22 pass. limo and we went to 3 vineyards (Baiting Hollow, 48 and Pugliese). He had a catered lunch set up at Baiting Hollow and 48 had a DJ so we danced for hours (and drank, of course!)

Donna ... That would be great if you can get the information from him. I can call them and get all the details and then find out what people think. If there are more than 22 people we can always do two limos!

I'm on it. I will ask him tonight.

I will call around and see what the prices look like. No way that I am going to have it there if it is $100 per person!

I would love that- such a great idea-count me in!

if you do lunch inclusive, it's over $100 pp. I was invited to a friend's bday last year with same company I had used three yrs prior, and it was about the same price.

I still would go, but it would be cost prohibitive for some girls.

I would not go with one of the companies. I was thinking about talking to Joe at Camelot and seeing if we can arrange something and then we can either bring lunch in coolers or work with one of the vineyards to have lunch.

The companies are a rip off!

I figure it does not hurt to see if it is workable and if not move on...

If people can also post recommendations for restaurants to have it in somewhere in the middle of the island that would also be good so I can start to ask people to get price quotes!

Sounds like a great idea!

I am the worst w ideas for a shower, and am having trouble thinking up locations for my own.

Love this idea!

I went on a wine tour last summer in Northfork on a trolley, it was really great I just can't remember the name of the company!

Also, I don't know when I'll have a registry, I don't think I was planning on having one in the fall, hopefully that doesn't mess with the timing for this.

If you don't do it with a company you just call the vineyards ahead of time, number one so they expect the number and are ready for you, but also they may offer discounts as well.

When we went wine tasting in Oregon for my friends 30th, there was only a small group of us and we set it up ourselves and were treated like royalty!

I'm totally gonna be the wrench in the bunch for this one.....I don't really drink anymore so a wine tour wouldn't be something I'd wanna do....for the people that don't really drink those things aren't really fun. Don't get me wrong I've been on many of them (when I used to drink) and they're loads of fun though.

I guess I'm more traditional I like the cute brunch/lunches with a little spunk, like a DJ or DJ Chef, or cooking lessons thrown in, etc....something that makes it special with something to do besides sit around.
I'm totally down to help with all the little details if we decide to go the more traditional route...

Sorry for being the random one

No need to apoligize.

THinking about it... Most likely it would not work out to be the right price for the Bridal Shower.

I need people to recommend places for shower so I can get on this!

Maybe we can do this a G2G (if the pricing works out) instead of the shower?

Mara- did you get my list of places?
