I realized that we have at least 4 or 5 people at CHCC now so I figured that I would start a thread.
1. What room are you having your reception in? 2. Are you getting married at CHCC? 3. Who is your bridal manager?

YAY CHCC
1. I'm getting married in the Plaza Room
2. No, I'm not getting married at CH. FH wants that but I'm a big church person and really want to get married at the church I grew up in, so that's what we're doing.
3. I have Sharon too. I loooooove her, she's fabulous.

What factors helped you make your decision?

Re: 2012 Crest Hollow Thread
The rooms were an issue. We originally were looking to keep it at 150 (looks like it will actually be more like 175). The smaller room they said could fit 150 but when I was there it was set up for 130 or 140 and I thought it was tight. The larger room had a minimum of 165 and I did not want to guarantee more than we thought we wanted to have it.
I was a little concerned about the gardens being as nice as I saw them since I am getting married in April. They said that is tulip time and they are all in bloom but I did not want to have to worry about that!
Another factor was I have absolutely no luck and most likely it will rain on the day of my wedding. I did not like that there were not as many places to take pictures inside at Swan Club.
But I loved the place! I also liked the location. My FH grew up next door in Manhasset so that would have been nice.

Re: 2012 Crest Hollow Thread
oh ok... Yeah that definitely makes a lot of sense. I was going to have at least 130 people but then I decided to pare the list a bit and keep it at 100. Maybe I'll go over by 10 but that's about it.
And don't say you have bad luck!!! You are getting married to a great man right?? That doesn't sound like bad luck to me!!! LOL!

Re: 2012 Crest Hollow Thread
I am getting married at Crest Hollow and our reception starts at 6:30pm so that is what I put.
We are going to try to have our wedding ceremony outside but we are going to have the cocktail hour inside. We have it in our contract that we are the ones that have the option of the outside cocktail hour but I do not think we want to spend the extra money.
We are really on a tight budget especially now since we may be buying a house now.

Re: 2012 Crest Hollow Thread
I like to have the option we also put in for it in our contract! And we too are trying to buy a house before we get married so its going to be tight! i dont really understand why they charge a fee to have it outside its like setting up any other room! i also which they let you pick the room you want for your cocktail hour when you sign with them! i would want the Emerald Room!

Re: 2012 Crest Hollow Thread
I use to do catering so I do kinda get that they charge more for the outside. For one, you have to put the food out closer to the start time so that is something that makes it harder. Also, it is harder to set it up outside because it is farther away from the kitchen etc.
I do not mind that you can not pick the room where the cocktail house is. To be honest I have been in all of the rooms and they are all gorgeous!
