I'm a 2012 De Seversky bride and I'm looking to see who else is getting married here in 2012!?
Also - Are you doing traditional, european, mansion style?
I'm doing European because FH liked the idea of being different and utilizing the whole mansion. I'm kinda torn though because I do like traditional and would love to still have our first dance in the ballroom.
Maybe we'll do ipod in ballroom and DJ in the garden room. Not sure yet...we have time, but I've been struggling with these options. The ballroom is too gorgeous not to utilize it!

Re: 2012 De Seversky Brides
We just booked there for 9/7/2012!!! We are doing European. We were told we could do either style since its probably gonna be ~130 guests (we are inviting ~155). I just love that its different and we have the whole mansion. We are doing intro's and first dance in the ballroom before dinner. After dinner more dancing and shenanigans in the garden room/atrium. We are having 2 DJ setups- one in the ballroom, the other in the atrium. Cocktail hour we are either using our ipods or considering having a piano player.

we are having 2 dj setups one in the ballroom the other in the atrium. There will be 1 DJ and 1 MC we are using (scott ) Rhythm of the night- he is one of the dj recommended by deseversky. I called other djs and i just liked him the best. i felt as though a lot of dj were trying to talk me into doing traditional style and i just feel like if you are going to have your reception at de seversky use the whole mansion!

Re: 2012 De Seversky Brides
Hi all,
We are also doing a European set up. We're doing cocktails and then dinner in the Garden Room. We're having a piano player during cocktail hour and we got a band. So we're having one or two members of the band play during dinner and then the band set up to do introductions and first dance after dinner to open up the dancing in the ballroom. My only hesitation is now we'll already be halfway into the party before we do introductions. Any thoughts? We're getting married there March 2012 btw. Looking forward to sharing this all with you along the way :)

Dinner in the garden room. Dancing in the ballroom. I like this idea. The ballroom is really nice. :)
Why not introduce in the beginning right before dinner?

Re: 2012 De Seversky Brides
just wondering if anyone has booked a dj for their wedding. i really want someone who keep the dance floor packed without having to talk all night. club hits, freestyle, dance rock, etc. any suggestions? i will only need someone for the reception - not cocktail hour or the ceremony. we will be having dinner/dancing in the ballroom.

hmm nope. im prob gonna start looking for dj's once i've booked my photographer.
but when me and my fh went to the tasting, a recommended dj was there (rhythm of the night - http://rotnentertainment.com/). they seemed cool. i've also heard of li sound. other than that haven't done my dj research yet.

Re: 2012 De Seversky Brides
Hi ladies! I'm getting married there 9/1/2012. We are IN LOVE with Deseversky. We are doing European. Dinner in garden room area, dancing in ballroom. We have a large party (inviting 225) so this was our only option. I didn't like the walls in the room connected to the garden room so they offered us a drapery and uplighting package so they will be covered. I agree with the introductions concern. I think we may do them before dinner. We are also having a band so we will have some of the members in the room during dinner. A concern I am having is that there is not going to be enough seating during cocktail hour. I guess I just have to pray for good weather so that they can sit outside.

hey hall twin!!!
yeah, im trying to think of what to do within the other dining room. (where you are having dinner)
who offered the drapery/lighting? was it another company or de seversky themselves? im still trying to figure how to make this room work while everyone dances under the stars...
where is your cocktail hour? seating during cocktail hour may not be bad. wont everyone be mingling and standing around the cocktail rooms?

Deseversky offered the lighting/drapery package. I know it gets difficult during cocktail hour to juggle food and a drink without having a table to lean on. You could always get a photobooth for that room during dancing.

Hi 2012 girls! We are thinking of having grey and pink. What do you think? Also, are you guys doing any uplighting for dancing?

Re: 2012 De Seversky Brides
hey! grey and pink would be nice!
i just had my finals meeting with deseversky on saturday. we are doing 4 up lights against the brick in the garden room for dancing.
i'm contemplating asking them for lighting during dinner in the dining room...
