2014er moving over

2014er moving over

We decided to push back our wedding to 2015 because of money issues... and I couldn't be happier. I can rest for the next year and just enjoy being engaged.

We've already picked the Swan Club as our venue, but now I don't have to sweat to come up with the deposit right now. Our original date was 3/15/14. We'll do that before the end of the year. And I already have my dress paid for (DB CKP421), awaiting it's arrival. So for now, it'll just hang in my closet until we're ready to move forward.

So, I guess I've found my new home! Nice to meet you ladies :)

Welcome Jen nice to meet you too!! Congratulations on your engagement and picking a venue. I am on the hunt for a venue now; needless to say I find it overwhelming at times!! We picked 2015 for the exact same reason...Money. This way we could save and have what we want, there's no rush!! :)

I must say you have to check out The Swan Club... it's so beautiful, and they are so reasonable. We were quoted for a March Saturday night in 2014 $65pp!! Seriously, check them out

I am in the same EXACT boat as you... originally had my HEART set on a early fall 2014 wedding... after shopping around at venues and realizing how rediculously expensive it is to get married on LI we pushed the date back to 2015. People still look at me like I have 5 heads when I say the wedding is 2015 but its nice to have so much time to plan! Good luck with everything!! =)

I can't believe how much more relaxed I feel knowing I have much more time to plan now. I haven't even thought about planning this shindig in about 6 weeks. I'll seriously have to revisit it around the end of the year. But for now, I'll just sit back and enjoy the engagement. FH and I are thinking of throwing ourselves a small e-party in the fall. Just our nearest and dearest for a dinner either at home (catered) or at a restaurant. We'll see what's in the budget for that.

Thats what we did, in October we had an e-party, it was held at the local VFW type hall and our families cooked all the food. We had about 65 people there (family and close friends) and it was really nice, everyone had a great time. Of course our parents helped out a lot so we didnt have to spend a dime but I don't think the whole thing cost more than $500 (including decorations, favors, invites, food, bar, etc).

Crashing! FH and I had a 2 year engagement and it was the smartest thing we've ever done! I would suggest booking vendors now so you can pay off everything with time. With 5 months till our wedding we have absolutely no stress at all!

I was a 2014 bride but had to move my date over as well, but it was due to FH's deployment schedule changing. It is really nice knowing we have that much more time to pay everything off!
