2nd fitting was a success! (KINDA LONG POST)
I didn't post right after my first fitting last week because it ended up not going too good. the gown i bought comes with a corset back... I asked if I could have a zipper with buttons instead & they said sure no problem, we will just order the dress a size bigger & convert it. I go to the store on 9/1 and when the seamstress tries to close the back of the dress by my chest, the dress won't close enough to put the zipper!!!!!!
She starts asking me why I didn't see her sooner. I told her the owner saw me in the gown when it came in and said everything looked great & i didn't need to see the seamstress until 4 weeks before the wedding. I decided to start fittings 8 weeks before just to be safe (my weight doesn't fluctuate).. well thank goodness I did that.
So now, I am sitting there looking at the seamstress like please tell me there is something you could do. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to keep the corset back, but I always wanted the small buttons down the back of my wedding gown..
Fast forward to last night (2nd fitting).. The most amazing seamstress ever - took the seams out of the sides of the dress & was able to close the dress! YEY! So far everything looks great. But we are not in the clear yet. I just hope and pray the zipper goes in OK & it zips up OK. I will keep you all posted.
