2nd tri - being paranoid...

Okay, so I'm 23 weeks or something right now (weeks sort of blend into each other so I know I should be more 'on top of things' but it's hard when work sucks and you don't know if it's day/night most days). Anyway, the baby all weekend was hammering away - kicking around, jumping all over the place. Bob could even 'feel it' from the outside for the 1st time. The last few days, hardly anything. I know I shouldn't make myself crazy and it's probably normal. I tried shoving it a few minutes ago (my friend commented that I'm abusing my child - hopefully she meant it as a joke) to get it to move. I got a little response but that was it. Is there gaps of time where it doesn't move around as much? Should I call the doctor? I don't have an appointment until the 3rd of March.

God, I can't wait until this kid comes out.

Was anyone else a paranoid preggo? Like you were over-reading EVERYTHING going on with your body? I just noticed a few weeks ago a discharge and I was just sure I was leaking amniotic fluid. It was normal but you had to see me for days!!

I also went through spurts where the baby would kick for several days and then hardly anything. I also worried and gently poked at my belly to try to get baby kicking again.
Try having a glass of orange juice or laying on your side. That sometimes works.
The baby may have been up all night while you were sleeping and you didn't know it and is sleeping all day now.
It is also normal to have a little discharge when you are pregnant.

I'm in my 27th week and the baby is still not all that active. I asked my dr. about it last week and he said not to worry about it.

You will have spurts of activity and then times when the baby is quiet. It sounds like you are very busy at work, maybe you are just not in tune to the belly dancing when its crazy during the day.

If you don't feel anything for a few days, or are really that concerned, its ok to be paranoid... call the dr.

I agree with Sue. Lay on your side after having lots of water. Obviously you cannot do this at work, but try it on an inactive night for the baby.
