Hello, I just saw a Leonard's of Greatneck Thread but it has a lot of older posts on it (not that I mind, I love to read any post on Leonard's ) I know someone else had a more recent post with up to date posted wedding dates but I can't seem to find it, so.... I decided to start a new one. I will start it off

Went to meet Ian today to discuss our plans.....he was so nice, not pushy at all. He simply explained all the available upgrades to us.
As far as the cake, I picked #13 with the Swans. To me, it just isn't worth spending tons of extra money on a cake that is visible for 5 minutes and then cut up and eaten. As long as my guests find it tasty, I don't really care. Honestly, I really thought it was fine. I don't care for the swans and may ask if they can leave them off but the design itself is very pretty and I don't like fondant cakes (taste wise).
So everything seems to be in place and I am totally at ease with Ian handling everything for us. Now I just have to try and be patient.
I'm glad that everything went well for you with Ian. So you met with him for a final walk through? How far in advance do they do this? Also was the list of upgrades detailed. I went to a food tasting where I was told their menu changes? Feel free to FM me. Thanks

ok so i meet with elegancia dj and i love love love them i got the full package with the lights and fog everything, i love how they turn ur room any color u like i cant wait, and yes it cost an arm and a leg but i only plan to get married once !!! right girls

Hey girls...we had our meeting with Ian on Monday night and it went really well! We picked the cake that's shown with the swans...but we said no tiers, no swans, and not all that decorative frosting on the side. Basically just a round cake that our florist will decorate! We are using the menu cards that the provide...one less thing to worry about!
It made things feel so much more real! I'm getting very excited!!!!!

wait i don't mean to rain on your parade but check with leonards about the fog, cause my DJ told me they don't allow it cause it messes up their floors, but just double check.....

I'm so happy, I went to the tasting on Saturday, and afterwards I was able to change my room from the Empire to the Holiday-Parisian. My guest list grew too much (thanks to my mom). I was exstatic when Antonio told us that we're lucky cause the room is still available on my date!!

hi all. met with antonio recently for a few things Leonard's is ok with the throwing of rose petals- dried or fresh- I was worried about this. they are cool with you bringing your own candles. also, their menu cards are just fine. who here is getting married at Leonard's? What do you think of the fake flowers in the chapel. I'm in the empire room- I like the marble floor but can't stand that damn rock wall. Also I'm comforted by the fact that a lot of brides are cool with the tiered cakes without the swans or columns. Simple is best for me.BTW- How much extra are the individual items for the cocktail hour? FM me if want. thanks

Another Leonard's Bride here Does anyone know when the next tasting is?
I see a lot of talk about the Leonard's cake....should I be concerned? Is the cake not all that?
One last thing...for anyone who is having the ceremony at Leonard's how are you going to decorate the ceremony room?

wow, we aren't doing anything to the ceremony room- you've got me a bit scared. I know they provide the runner. I really don't like the fake flowers. I dont want to buy flowers for a room we will use for such a short time. was thinking of putting candles of different heights on the pillars where the flowers are but i think thats pushing- my be too dangerous for people going in and out.

Hi girls! I don' think they allow candles in the ceremony room. I asked last time and the BM said no.

This thread has been quiet for a while. How has everyone been doing with their different leonard's experiences? Does anyone else think Leonard's is a little too gawdy?- I mainly talking about the rock walls on the side of some rooms.

My fiance and I are considering canceling our wedding at Leonard's of Great Neck. It is a Friday night wedding on Feb. 16 2007. We were having both our ceremony and reception there. However, we can't afford to make that decision without knowing someone else will book our room at the same time. We already left a hefty deposit. i totally agree i dont know where all the Leonard's brides are...anyone want to post their Centerpieces, comments, reactions, dealing with BM, anythinggg....
I think all the rooms are pretty, im not in the empire room, im in the bottom floor, the champagne/gold/fountain/ etc room im having 320 guests

I know what happened here.
I am actually downstairs in the grand ballroom as well b/c I am having about 300 guests as well.
