<3 QUESTION OF THE DAY 4/1/11 <3

Happy April 1st ladies! I sure do hope it starts to warm up and soon! We're going to have some chilly April brides!

Sooooooooooo ... speaking of chilly people they say that wedding and funerals bring out the worst (and at times the best) in people. Nearly all of my engaged/married friends would concur with the statement above so that leads to today's question.

What has been one of the not so great outcomes of your engagement? It could be how someone reacted. What someone did. Anything ...

***

I would have to say that I am *very* surprised at some of my friends. I have been a bridesmaids many a time, professional at this point, and am surprised at some of these friends whose weddings I spent a fortune on reacted/responded to this amazing time. I always offered help and they were too busy to offer. Granted, many were not invited to be in my bridal party, but future hubby and I agreed that we wanted to look back at our pictures after 10 years and still be friends with those in our party. Over time relationships change ... and I think for future hubby and I many have and not on our doing. I always ensure to make super crafty gifts, its in my nature, and was hurt at the lack of thought from some of these people. Better yet, some of which dont even know if they are coming!

It made me realize that not many people are like me. I always offer to help others even when my plate is overflowing. I always put thought into gifts, make it personal, go above and beyond not worrying about the total in the end. But I cant expect that in return. I have to enjoy doing it and know in my heart its for them. I guess I was just surprised. It showed me how much these friendships had changed and I hadnt even realized. Somewhat sad ... but I feel like totally normal!

Some reactions by certain family members - not to our overall engagement but to how we (FH and I) planned things out and expect of them. Example: a effin RSVP to our e-party

I've seen a friend kinda bail on 'us' and our big events and that has left a SERIOUS bad taste in my mouth. I've deleted her as a friend on FB and took her # out of my phone.

My friend had been engaged for over a year at the time and was having a very long engagement. When I got engaged she kinda started acting weird around me - I think she was afraid I would get married before her even tho she was engaged first. That really surprised me since she started acting secretive about her wedding details like I would copy?!

Anyway, she relaxed when FH and I set a date for AFTER hers and became normal again. So weird.

on the flip side, I've been pleasantly surprised by many friends, coworkers who really were SOOO happy and supportive of me and FH. It really touched me and made me realize who truly has my back and aren't jealous hatersss

i had a couple of friends purposely plan weddings right before mine so they could be 'first'

needless to say, they're no longer on my guest list.
