30th Birthday

So I will be 30 in 6 months.

Any of you had a surprise 30th birthday?
Planned your own?
Didn't have a party?

I kinda want a surprise party, but then again, I want to plan something in the city.

What are your opinions?

If you wait for someone to do a surprise party and you don't get one, you will be disappointed. I would plan my own lol Just my opinion.

After doing all of this wedding planning, I am set for doing things on a smaller scale now. :) I like being in control :-X

i would plan a party myself, if u really wanted one, or maybe hint at the party to your best friend or someone close to help pull it off

My bday is May 28th...So next friday is my exact half bday!

My mom and sister planned a little 'ladies luncheon' for my 30th - my female cousins and closest friends were there, and it was great. It was at a great little restaurant in huntington that has since closed

I also planned a SMALL dinner / drinking / fun at dave and busters for the day after my bday (the party was the week before), and 2 people showed out of the 12 who said they were coming. None of those who said they were coming and didn't even thought it was necessary to call and tell me they couldn't make it before hand - in fact, only 2 even bothered to apologize afterwards. I was hurt, mad and very upset - these were friends who knew it was my birthday, and they didn't think it was necessary to even call me to tell me they couldn't make it.

Plan something for yourself if you want - or ask a close friend to do it, but not as a surprise. You can do it for the week before or something so that if anyone's planning a suprise, you won't interfere with that.

My 30th was this summer and actually we didn't do anything big -- just dinner with my family. With work and the wedding there was just a lot going on and to be honest I just wasn't into it.

As for my friends everyone did something different for some we did dinner, some had parties -- no one did anything over the top!

DH did however give me a surprise 25th birthday -- it was in the backyard and it was great.

DH threw me an amazing surprise 30th this past Sept. I couldnt believe how he kept everything a secret!!!!!! He is so bad about keeping this but i really had NO CLUE.

I planned my own and had a blast

wow, if I ever had to leave it up to FH to plan something I would be very, very scared lol

It would involve some sort of sport, and there would probably be no food at all lol mostly drinks, and since he can't have carbonated beverages, it would mostly be water and iced tea lol

It would be a very sad party....that is why I must do it if I want something done :) haha

I dont want a party lol, i know this might sound weird but i dont like parties that are for me. The wedding i was able to do bc it was DH and I, even though they say its all about the bride i thought no its about us so thats why i was ok with it. Normally, i dont do much for my birthday. What i do is say ok i am going out to this bar/club and whoever is free is welcome to come and we'll just go hang out and have fun. But i never do dinners before, i dont like it all being about me, or making a big deal about it lol. I know its weird but even when i was younger, i never wanted a sweet 16 and my mom tried to convince me but i said no. Never did big birthday parties, not even for 18 or 21, i just said hey i am going out to this club who wants to come and thats it. I hate being the center of attention lol, wedding was fine bc i felt we both were in the spotlight and i always let him take that center of attention spot. Which explains why for e-party i didnt drink 1 alcoholic beverage, not even wedding did i have 1 drink BUT for my shower the moment i got there i threw back quite a few drinks and got drunk at my shower, well tipsy lol and i dont really drink. I felt weird when it was all about me and wasnt comfortable.

For my 30th, i think i would prefer to go away somewhere with Dh and just do it like a regular vacation. I had a wedding and got that out of my system and dont want anymore parties for me

I love parties...

Sadly I didn't get a suprise party. It was held at my brother's and I had to pay for half the food...Plus it's a mildstone so it should be something grand!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you have a blow out bash! And everything I didn't!!!!

lol i love them too, i like attending though. When its all for me i get uncomfortable hahaha. But when its time to go out partying i am always down, i like celebrating others birthdays lol just not my own.

danielle! i wanted a surprise and no one ended up doing anything for me!!! LOL

luckily DH was nice to have made res @ our fav steakhouse and it was simple but that weekend we got nuts lol i do wish i had something bc EVERY yr i have s omething awesome and for my big 3 0 i did sh*t!
